Title: I came this close to buying NFC Championship tickets...
Post by: Ripsnort on January 18, 2006, 03:33:27 PM
Friend at work had a pair for sale, $400 for 300 level seats (normally $55 seats ....then I realized I'd have to kill 2 out of 4 family members in order to go since there were only two tickets for sale...ah well.

Ouch... sounds like a gouging. A few years ago, I went to the AFC championship game at Oakland versus Tennessee. Think I spent about $90 for 300 level seats.

Gouging? I'd say rape...just take a look at Ebay prices for tickets....(although that first pair kisted is reasonable..)

:rofl  1 guy selling tickets has an end date of 1/24,  two days after the game.

I just have to laugh at the mentality of someone that would pay hundreds if not thousands to go to a live game when it can be watched from home (like me) no crowds, comfortable enviornment.

dont get me wrong, live is good, but not $600 to $1000 dollars good

when the packers were in the NFC championship before winning superbowl XXX the tickets were going for about $500-1100 per seat.

thats even when the weather was known to be in the negative digits for game time.

Live football sucks. It's better on the television.

The same cannot be said for hockey.

Dont joke around, we all know that for packers fans, the just makes the ducat that much more valuable...probably an extra $100 for ever 10 degrees below freezing is forcast at kickoff

Any football sucks, but at least at the game you can oogle the cheerleaders.  On the other hand, the idiots around you screaming may trump the hooters.

Live hockey = fun!

when I say live is good, it depends on the sport and the team or the venue

Roundrock Express baseball games, great live.  Baseball is ok on TV but much better setting on 3rd base line.

NASCAR, good on TV, but much better live, louder and the cars are brighter

Hockey is ok on TV, much better in person.

Live Pro Football can suck.  I only went to one game, back during the short lived WFL days, my Dad took us to a game at the Astrodome, Sharks vs Tigers? 1972 or 1973? been too long.  Anyway seats were up in the nosebleed section around the 10yard line.  whole night spent watching these little colored dots running on the field.

High school football much better, but probably because I had more emotional involvement when my son was playing
