Aloha Airlines flies from California all the way to Hawaii:confused:
Aloha Route Map (http://www.alohaairlines.com/WhereWeFly.php)
Why would anyone wanna travel all that way in a 737?
-
I'd do it in a B17:aok
-
To make it, you'd need to leave your ammo behind and show up right in the middle of the attack on Pearl Harbor.
-
I thought Aloha just flew in Hawaii like TTA only flew in Texas
-
We've got KLM making non stop flights from Amsterdam to Houston in 737's now. I think DLH has non stop 737's from Berlin to New York also.

LoL, how unlucky do you have to be for that to happen, ya know!

you buy the ticket and I'll take the flight.

Is sitting in steerage class for 6hrs in a 737 worse the on a 747?
I ask because I got 6hrs sitting in coach on a 737-800 in a few weeks...should I bump myself up?
-
I'd say yes, depending on ticket prices. I'm usually just happy to fly though, get in the air, throw on the headphones and go!

So would you feel safer in this

I'd feel less safe in this....

My choice would be
757:for speed or power
767:for comfort
737:no way
-
I found they jam you just as close together no matter what the plane. smaller plane just means less people to climb over on your way to the toilet.
-
well bigger planes like the 767 are better becuase they don't encounter turbulance like you do in a smaller plane like a 737 and how crowded it is matters on when you fly if you take the first flight of the day there will be hardly any people
-
I've flow Seattle to Ft. Lauderdale many times on a 737, its a 6 hour flight(non-stop...5 hours 20 mins. down, 6 hours return trip) No problems comfort-wise.
-
Many carriers are now using these for 2-3 hour flights... I'd rather be in a 737:

Wow!
Nonstop flights from Cali to Hawaii!
Who'd have thunk it possible!:rofl

This is how I prefer to travel, my son took this shot when were on the way to Rome last summer. Up front in a DC10.

On the way back, it was an A330, again up front, but sorry, no pictures taken inside this time.

Well, they make it easier on the passengers by offering the B737 convertible...
so I can see why the B737 is the favoured aircraft - Airbus does not have a convertible.

Yes, that's the one. And just to think - some people won't fly Airbus... because of... "design flaws".
:rofl :rofl :rofl :rofl :rofl :rofl :rofl :rofl
-
that 737 flew and landed and the tail didn't fall off.

Kind of ignoring flight 587 and the recent incident of an Airbus rudder falling off in flight aren't you beetle?
If you want to offer those aren't "design flaws" as you like to say, then you will have to explain why they were designed to fall off.

Was there an Airbus accident last year?
-
For 2005, the FAA records 12 incidents involving Airbus A/C & 27 involving 737s.
170 involving Cessna 172s, the plane I fly in most often.
I'm always after some excitement.

At 35 000 feet above the Caribbean, Air Transat flight 961 was heading home to Quebec with 270 passengers and crew. At 3.45pm last Sunday, the pilot noticed something very unusual. His Airbus A310's rudder -- a structure over 8m high -- had fallen off and tumbled into the sea. In the world of aviation, the shock waves have yet to subside.

Aloha does flights to NY, not just California. Unless they dumped that route. They also do many flights to Vegas, Pheonix, Dallas/FtWorth, Seattle, and Canada. I usually go through Houston because I cant stand flying out of LAX. JW in Orange County isnt bad, but I'd rather avoid LA entirely if possible.
Its not such a bad flight. Long, but not bad.
*Edit
Never mind, I'm thinking of Hawaiian Airlines, not Aloha. Aloha has much more limited routes.

Fatal Event Rate Per Million Flights (http://www.airsafe.com/events/models/rate_mod.htm)

Never would have guessed DC-9 for #2 on the total flights list
it isn't, but i wouldn't have guessed it 3rd either
-
Well I'm glad that the Airbus landed safely - without loss of life.
