Title: Saving a video from the web
Post by: Ripsnort on January 22, 2006, 07:53:45 AM
How does one save a video from the web where the said video does not have the COPY option highlited? I can watch the video through Nero or WMP via a direct URL, but how can I capture that?  I also have Pinnacle Studio and played around with it, but haven't figured out a way to get Pinnacle to capture a video from a URL source...

There's a joke here, but I'll refrain. :)

watch the video via the web explorer and no save option?,
This is the simplest way, go to your local : Temporary Internet Files
there you see the video, copy that to a new location, done.

Streamed movies aren't saved to any temp folders, that's the main problem.

Thanks, but nothing exists in Temp Internet files...its a streaming video so I think the only option is the one Staga recommended.

Get ASF Stream is good and free, but it doesn't seem to be available anywhere anymore except in P2P.

I had, maybe still do, this outstanding app called "Streambox VCR", paste the vid url and it captures as you watch.

Real, or Apple (can't recall), sued them and won, but the app is still "in the wild", and others have followed.

I used to use the analog hole for some things, svideo out to a VCR, then back in via TV tuner card.
