Title: Same thing happened to me but

I had the computer locking up on the first page that came up and the map page spinning.  It doesn't do it now and all I did was uncheck Hardware vertex processing in video setup and installed this http://downloads.hitechcreations.com/AHHIRES206.EXE
and now it doesn't lock up and the page quit spinning.

2 gb ram
eVGA 7800 gtx
WD 320gb hd
