Cool find.

See lots of F-4s, a-10s, f-14s -- sorry morph -- and maybe some a4s.

Not sure about these -- the planform looks like f/a-18s, but only see a single tail. Whaddya think?

BTW, anybody have the location of the USAF's boneyard? I'm sure its a lot bigger than this.....

f-16's

The New Zealand Government announced on December 1st, 1998, that it will lease-buy the 28 Pakistani F-16s which have been kept in storage at the AMARC (Aircraft Maintenance and Regeneration Center) at Davis-Monthan AFB, also known as the (desert) Bone yard.

'

They sure look like F16s.

The NZ govt was going to sell the aging but modernised A4 Skyhawks and buy the 28 F16s to replace them. Instead we  scrapped our entire air combat wing... Thats right, we dont have a combat wing, at all... Just transports, Helos, and Orions. The NZ govt has ruled out purchasing the F16s. I think the A4s were sold back to a private company in the USA.

Duh. Cross the highway, dope -- THATs where the big boys are. Cools to see teh ones already being cannibalized, with pieces parts all over.

My favorite find: and A-10 in the act of being pulled back to the retirement home...

Lots of 52s, some A6s with wingfolds, and -- tho i hardly believe it -- looks llike some starfires with wingtanks. Delta darts, broncos...man! What a great way to kill time on a slow afternoon!

Half of those Pakistani F-16s have already been put into service elsewhere.

NO ****.

FUUUUUUUG I hate seeing tomcats on the chopping line. Its just wrong man.

Give me one dont shop the watermelon up! I'll put it in my front yard.

Edit: The worst is seeing pics of cats rolling in with the pilots and reo's stepping out of them for the last time. That sucks. I'd be crying like a little *****.

i understand your point and your feeligns morph...

problem is, the cats are old and outdated...i love em too, but...with Raptors, new F-18E's and the eventual JSF...who needs em?

Sell them to private parties...hmmmm...now THAT would be a way for the government to make up some deficit dollars!

Problem is - who maintains them?  Who makes sure there are no secretish equipment on the ex-mil birds?  who is to say a private dude wouldnt go postal and refit the cat with black market weaponry systems and shoot down airliners and vulch airfields???

damn that prolly wont work...

Davis Mothan AFB, Tuscon Arizona.  And yes it it Huge.  You can see the B-52 tails from I-8.  Actually toured the bone yard when I was active duty flying for the Navy.  Way cool to see what is left of B-17s next to F-111, F-14, A-7, A-10s.
