Spatula. I'm really surprised and shocked at your post.
For some reason you continue to ridicule and poke fun at cultures you have no knowledge of.
I hope that makes you feel better about yourself. Why, in certain languages, "Fukum" could mean "closer to God" or something like that.
Your continual haranguing of your worldly neighbors should be stopped immediately.
Go do something really, really serious, and stop enjoying life. This world wasn't put here for you to laugh and poke fun at.
Go read a book about death or something. I'm really upset, and I want you to be upset too. It doesn't make me feel any better to know that somewhere someone's smiling, and having a good time.
"Well son, do you think you're old enough to start tending the sheep yourself?"
"Y-e-e-e-s-s-s f-a-a-t-h-e-r!"

Hehe Spatula, I was raised about 40 miles from Intercourse, PA. If you look on a map, the town right next to Intercourse is Bird-In-Hand, and right down the road is Paradise. Funny thing is, all these towns are in Amish country lol. Just one of those things that make you go hmmm........ (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/biggrin.gif)

You forgot that right up the road from Beaver Oklahoma is Hooker Oklahoma. If you go into town from the south you crest a hill and the first thing that you see is a sign on top of a building that says HOOKER HARDWARE.
btw, coldest beer in Oklahoma in down the road at Slapout Oklahoma.
Commentary from a guy whos hometown is the town of Towner Colorado.

Funny post!~
I live just up the road from a small town called "Bonny Lake"...but everyone I know calls it "Bonney Leaks".
-
Look over the OP again, find "Dildo, Newfoundland". That's one of many we're proud of: I love seeing people stopped on the side of the road, getting their pictures taken under its road sign.
Here's a few more we have:
Dildo Run; Spread Eagle; Blow-Me-Down; Grosswater Beach; Come-By-Chance (story of my life...ahem); Gayside (name got changed to Baytona); Joe Batt's Arm (he musta thought a lot about that arm... beats sheep, I 'spose).

Intercourse, PA was mentioned on a repeated Simpson's episode a few days ago. My wife, who hates that show, gave me one of those looks when she heard it. Even when I told her it was a real city and there was nothing wrong with saying it on TV (is there?), her opinion did not change.

p.s. Spatula I find your posts funny

I think all wives hate the Simpsons. It's inherent in their nature...DOH!

Not hardly Papa. I was actually lampooning the "stuffed shirt" response Spatula got from some folks in an earlier post, and then the stuffed shirt response I got after commenting favorably on Spatula's post.
The good part is we started learning who has a sense of humor around here, and who takes themselves w-a-a-a-y too seriously.
The other good part is that Spatula now has some really nifty travel slogan ideas to give to the New Zealand Board of Tourism.
Now I just need to figure out how to surgically remove this extra damn "u" in my "humor"...
