Title: Proposed "Tax Season" System

Unknown to most, including HTC.  I am still playing AH2 on a:

Pentium 3 800Mhz
384MB RAM
GeF3
XP Pro
19 processes (includ AH2)
49FPS (Norm.)
High 20's-Low 30's in a furball.


I need to turn this PC over to my 4 year old.  Daddy needs a better PC.

I now need a Video Card.  I'm getting confused on "pixel pipelines", etc.

Anyone have suggestions for a Card that will run this game nice with the above?

I'm quite partial to my nVidia 6800, but I'm too sick at the moment to give reliable advice. If you can, get a better version of it (GT, ect.), though the first is still very good.

Running AMD64 4000 with 1gig..... BFB-6800GT....runs great........ should be able to get a good price now that the 7800s are here....

A 7800Gt is right around 300 bucks now , mine runs AH perfectly @ 512 textures 1600X1200 4X AA , All sliders half an inch or so above default. I prolly could go higher on the sliders , but i dont like to see any slow downs in high traffic area's .   38

My setup runs full sliders IIRC, 1024x768, 4X AA, 512 textures with skins with very, VERY little slowing. Mainly happens when I forget to turn the CPU fan up. :noid
