Did you see the latest Battlestar Galactica? Starbuck put a thumb over the sun/star to see better, and was able to see (any barely evade) a cylon raider.

Well they have obviously developed more effective thumbs in the
sci-fi future :D

lol we should be able to spend a perk or to to get sunglasses. Or the sunshades they have on cars hehe.
-
Don't think I ever saw a fighter with sunshades :huh
Be kind of "Unhealthy" I would think. I have saw them on bomber aircraft though.
A filter for your googles would be nice though! Choice of flying with green or clear lenses.
What was that thing they used to fly with that hooked to the top of their flight helmet - you see it in some of the early war pics of pilots - was that a flip down sunshade of some type.

I believe Google already offers filters :D
Sunglasses would not be out of the question for the WW2 timeframe
however. Heck, tinted glass has been around since the middle ages.

Goggles used by all sides had the option to have tinted lenses.
Not the biggest photo, but this is the typical USAAF 44-45 goggles with optional lenses.

The RAF two pane glasses had a tinted part that could be lowered or raised. It was often removed but it was an option.
And of course lots of photos of WW2 pilots with their sunglasses on in the cockpit.

They used goggles and where do you think "aviator glasses" originated from?

Anyway to lessen that evil sun would be a miracle coming to AH.
That sun is evil but one thing I like about is coming in from the sun so the enemy cant see your plane and still be blinded. :t

Some Blueblocker standard issue windshields would be just as good :)
