-
YIPEEEE:D
-
Object editor, doesn't seem to work.. The main window pops up for a few seconds then disappears.. Anyone else having the same problem?
[edit]
ok, it's working now....
-
TE seems to be acting a little strange as though someone is changing the "time" setting when moving the mouse...
-
I'll let you know if it happens on mine. Right now it's still downloading.;)
-
Look at gafld0 and planes in TE , wait a min...PLANES!!?? :O :O :O
Can you please tell us the changes?
-
same thing with object editor -
white window like it's loading - then nothing.
open TE - then object editor worked...lol
-
restart your comp Waffle
-
any list of fixes / new features?
-
Here's a news update:
On my computer, I installed the new TE package.
I DID NOT RESTART MY COMPUTER WHEN I OPENED TE.
-TE opened normally and the "time" option is working fine with no trouble.
I DID NOT RESTART MY COMPUTER WHEN I OPENED OE.
-OE Opened normally and did not crash as you explained.
I am running a Windows 2000 Proffesional with Built on NT Technology. Service Pack 4.
You guys are propably having difficulties because your running Windows XP.
-
OE crashed at first, but removing/renaming the old "newshps", "userlib" and "settings" folders fixed it.
-----------
but then.... a BUG (?):
Object Editor's shape list does not show the files from userlib folder anymore!!!
Neither the freshly converted files nor the older ones copied to userlib folder
Earlier they were marked with "*" after the name.
-
I Haven't checked that yet. But yes, I know that the added files were marked with a star "*" to the right of the shape's name.
-
It shows "*" for me.
-
Thanks duh,
maybe I have to try re-installing the editors.
-
So far no troubles for me in TE or OE. Havent use CE yet.

duh,
- did you unistall the previous editor?
- if you did, did you remove the whole "ah2editor" folder?
- what is the complete path where your ahobedit.exe is? c:\***\***\etc.
- do you have any .til files in the ahiiterr\tiles folder?
Nothing seems to work for me.. I see no *-files in OE shape list and tiles folder is empty.
Maybe I'll try another download of those files...
-
-I didn't uninstall
-Didn't remove it
-C:\Program Files\HTC\ah2editor\
-Never had anything in tile folder
-
duh,
you have never saved anything with "save as" in the OE?
That is what makes a *.til file in the ahiiterr/tiles folder. That folder is where all the air bases and factories and such were.
But thanks anyways...
btw. could you still check which date your ahobedit.exe has in the ah2editor folder?
..and what the OE help/About window says about Objects Editor Version.... ?
-
I meant nothing by deafult, i keep my costum towns, factories and stuff there.
Modifiyng date: 8.2.2006
Version: 2.06 patch 1
-
Rule #1...
Always install the editors into a new folder and copy your work to it. Saves much agravation if there is a bug in the new editors.
-
I only backup the whole ah2editor folder
-
NHawk,
I thought I was safe with renaming the ah2editor folder by adding to its name... but the installation used ah2edi~1 as default, thus overwriting my old files... stupid eh?
Now I am stuck with freshly installed new version.. which does not work for me.
No idea what I could do anymore.. but wait for some suggestions or new files from HTC.
Time for some vacation, eh? :D
-
You deserve it(karelia objects):aok
-
BlauK is it possible it's still trying to load your old active files?
I didn't expect the Object Editor to work for me because I still had FatCity as the active tile and that pig is way more then the editor can take in one mouth full. Sure enough, I'll have to break it up and load it in small sections again. You might need to do the same.
-
I have the same problem than BlauK: I can not see any our custom objects in the "Shapes" list. I mean those ones with the asterisk *.
Has anybody the previous Editors' setup pack? I must reload it because I can not work now with the current update. And of course I don't have the older setup program... It could be the AHEDIT206.exe.

You (will) have mail on the way.
I'm checking the different versions before I send it.
Ok, the correct version is AH2EDIT2051.EXE.
:) I've never tried sending a file that big before. I sure hope you are not on dialup.
-
I'm not seeing custom shapes, either. In fact, just to test, I converted a NEW AC3D file, the editor put it in UserLib, but it still didn't show it in the editor when I reloaded.
-
Sorry kanttori, the connection aborted after about 25%.
See if you have that file on you hard drive somewhere. It's dated 9/21/05.
If not I'll learn how to ftp.
-
Easy,
thanks for the tip with the file name.
The OLD editor still appears to be available from HTC site:
http://downloads.hitechcreations.com/AH2EDIT2051.EXE (http://downloads.hitechcreations.com/AH2EDIT2051.EXE)
-
duh.. just checking.
Have you tried converting some new ac file (or even old byut renamed file) to the new OE?
Are you absolutely sure it appears in your OE shapes list with * after its name?
I tried replicating your installation, but still no go.
-
Yes , I converted some costume objects(trees,houses...)
-
ok, thanks duh.
Can anyone else here see the shp files from userlib folder in the new Object Editor's Shapes list?
The list is the second list in top right corner.
The files from userlib folder are marked with * after the name.
-
Ta-Daa, I Said earlier in this post "I'm having no problems with the new OE." Maybe that's because im running Windows 2000 SP 4. Also, my shapes appear with a "*" to the right of it.:D
-
Bogie,
do you also have the edotprs installed in c:\program files\HTC... etc?
My editors are not in teh Program Files folder... and have never been.
-
Mine are in:
C:\Program Files\HTC\ah2edit\
And what is "edotprs"?
-
As I said, I'm also not seeing custom shapes in the list, even if I convert a new AC3D model.
Now, I took my UserLib from the old editor and copied the full folder. Maybe I'll try deleting that from the new editor, convert the shape again (so IT creates the userlib folder) and copy the contents from the old one.
-
"Edotprs" is a typodian word for "editors"
Still no go for me. Even tried cleaning and editing the register.
Old editor shows them shapes ok, new one does not!
...runnin out of ideas, really.
-
The next thing to do... Contact HTC and tell them about the error. They will propably come out with another patch version fixing the "XP" problem within the month. How do I know this? Because when a new version of AHII was released a few months back. The H2H arena was messed up and generated a problem that disabled the opportunity for anybody to fly.
An H2H player notified HTC and they fixed the problem by the next day!:D
-
Incidentally, what ARE the changes from the last version? Other than the OE not reading custom shapes. ;)
-
But I can see costum shapes and I am on winXP?
Btw what are the changes in CE?
-
Don't ask me, I don't use the CE. Too complicated for me to encode the cloud files into my maps. If there are any changes, it might be the resolution required to use the CE. Since used to it required a massive resolution Win XP couldnt use.:aok
-
Ok, it does happen to me too.I tried converting some completely new objects and it doesn't show "*" by it name, I mean it's not there at all.
You guys were right, it doesn't work.
This needs to be fixed!
-
Well, who wants to talk to the "top" (HTC)? I'll do it, but im just checking if any of you want to.
-
Trying to get a handle on this. Search the drive for the missing shape file. It should be in the 'userlib' folder in the same path as the executable is.
-
No , any shapes from the userlib folder don't show in OE.
-
Where is the 'userlib' folder located in relation to the Object Editor executable?
Also, try executing the Object Editor from Explorer directly.
Also, check to see if the shape filter file (shplist.txt??) is in the executable folder.
-
I tried copying shpfilter.txt from ahiiterr folder to ah2editor but it still didn't help.
Somehow it can recognize old costum objects but not new.Userlib is where it should be (ah2editor/).
-
I can't even see OLD custom objects. :(
-
I can see my old custom objects. Just their not listed with an "*" to the right of their object name.
-
Skuzzy,
- files are in userlib like before (also when converted, they are created there correctly, but do not appear in the shapes list)
- the folder location is like before
- OE runs the same from both the shortcut and from the exe
shplist.txt??? it affects the TE, does it not?
Would it help at all if you checked my install.log?
-

My shplst.txt or shplist.txt file has disappeared. Searched for both spellings and it's gone. :huh
Nevermind, the correct spelling is shpfilter.txt and I found it.
-
Well, I can't support your inquiries Blauk. I haven't tried making any new shapes, then try pulling up their names in the OE. Although I have to believe you guys, this version of the TE package just has too many bugs.
-
No worries Bogie,
Skuzzy told that they have pinpointed the problem and will take care of it asap.
-
Copy that, I hear ya.:)
FINALLY!
-
Ok, the new editor package is ready. You can grab it here. (http://downloads.hitechcreations.com/AH2EDIT2062.EXE)
-
YAY! I'm downloading it right now, thanks HTC!:) ;) :D
Told ya guys it wouldn't take long!
-
But again, what ARE the updates with these latest two over the last release?
-
Check if the installer installs a "readme.txt" file on your computer. If it did, the updates should be listed in there.;)
-
Just basic updates. The Z-Bias issue in the Object Editor is fixed and now it correctly writes it.
-
What is Z-bias?
-
It is explained in the ac3d.txt file in your ah2editor folder ;)
