Are these the links Lazs was telling us about after Curval asked him? Is there an email address to which you send your orders as to how the tax is to be spent?

 :lol

Beet, be sure and let us know when you can "phone" in your orders for how your taxes are spent also. ;)

 Dear IRS,
Enclosed is my 2005 tax return showing that I owe $3,407.00 in taxes.
Please note the attached article from USA Today, wherein you will see the Pentagon has paid $171.50 for hammers and NASA has paid $600.00 for a toilet seat.
I am enclosing four toilet seats (value $2400) and six hammers (value $1029), bringing my total remitted to $3429.00.
Please apply the overpayment of $22.00 to the "Presidential Election Fund," as noted on my return. You can do this inexpensively by sending them one 1.5" Phillips Head screw (article from USA Today detailing how HUD pays $22.00 each for 1.5" Phillips Head Screws is enclosed for your convenience.)
It has been a pleasure to pay my tax bill this year, and I look forward to paying it again next year.

Should I know what you're talking about, or is this just an extension of some pointless UK vs US argument between you and Lazs that has nothing to do with my post?

It was a Lazs/Curval thread. Lazs called Curval a socialist because of his stance on guns, and Curval retorted that income tax was an entity borne of socialism, therefore Lazs was more of a socialist than Curv, who pays no income tax at all. So then Lazs seemed to indicate that his taxes would be spent how he wanted them to be spent, and Curv asked if he really meant that Lazs could enclose instructions on how the money was to be spent together with his check! Or something like that. It was pretty damn funny. :lol YMMV, of course.
 :aok

"Whoever said there is no such thing as a free lunch may have been right. But for millions of eligible taxpayers, with an Adjusted Gross Income of $50,000 or less, there is Free File. Free File is online tax preparation and electronic filing through a partnership agreement between the IRS and the Free File Alliance, LLC. In other words, you can e-file... free."

Why $50,000 or less? IRS welfare?
