Title: Hires textures

I play AH with the downloaded hires-textures but when the game pre-loads to my ram it only lists hires-textures for certain planes.

Am I doing something wrong?

Would only the updated planes have the hi-res available? That should be easy enough to check.
If that's not the problem, I'm stumped. Then again I don't use them so not familiar with them either.

I look at the pre-load pretty carefully... I am fairly positive that each time the hires-textures are different (ie P38 load hires with a few planes and next time, the 38 is replaced with the La5 for example).

I'm wondering if I am doing something wrong...

OK, that was my one and only thought. Like I said I don't use them so have no knowledge on their use.

Bad karma, the only dolt that answers doesn't have a clue  :)

Maybe it's loading textures so fast you can't see them all. When it says the texture it's loading, it might just be the texture it's loading at that given moment, and the system is loading them so fast it's only giving you an idea of where it is.

This would explain why some are loaded sometimes and not others. It's just displaying a different skin at different times it loads, but they're all there.

Only way to be sure is to watch it load, note something that is MISSING, have a friend spawn a plane on a runway [EDIT: I mean one that was missing from the progress screen], and spawn next to him. Look at the skin and see if it's high res or low res.
