Title: For the Next Campaign (Europe)
Post by: FiLtH on February 10, 2006, 10:25:45 AM
Would it be possible to enable the Lancaster, and plan for the night of its release, to have a CM on hand, so we could try one night mission with them?  He could set the arena to night for 2 hrs to enable to do a mission, that the RAF would have done.

edit: Lancasters will be available on Day 24, today is day 21.

I'm not sure night is such a good idea.  There are no night fighters and alot of people might just log off.

Ive done night missions just recently in a Snapshot...lastweek maybe? They set it to night. I could actually see the planes better at night. With a good icon range it would be playable.

I can recall a couple of FSOs a few years ago that featured Lancasters bombing at night.  Without moon light it was like flying inside a coal sack.  It required a lot of instrument flying.  The Axis side used Bf-110s as I recall.   Radar was turned on (Axis side only I think) and helped with interceptions.  Finding and landing on darkened airfields was a challenge.  It was very cool.

Check out this snapshot Nightfight at Baltic (http://events.hitechcreations.com/snapshots/snapshot.php?snapshot_id=97). It has been on the calendar for few times during the last year, muchos fun.
