Title: Frequent Discoes

Ok, over the last few days, if had an inordinate amount of discoes when playing. Ran a pingplot, and the results dont look good to me.

But computer illiterate as i am, i need a little help with those.

I believe Skuzzy will say that the first instance of ping loss sort of invalidates any results after that. So on each chart you want to look at the first time you loose some packets.

On half the pics hot #4 has some packet loss. Farther down #7,8 & 9 are a headache also with 100%

That's the basics, in depth trouble shooting better wait for the resident Geek, the omnipresent Skuzzy.

Hop 7 still giving me headaches.

What does that 100% PL mean?

I have not used ping plotter in a LONG time but I beleve that is packet loss

If you getting 100% packet loss then no information is getting returned from that HOP

I think (may skuzzy correct me if I am wrong) that those hops are routers or other network HW.

To stop the use of denial of service attacks some hardware is setup so as not to respond to a ping....

I dont think that the 100% PL on those hops is a problem

Mind you steps I think that only applies to hops 9 and 13

Hops 8,12 and 14 look like the problem... They are all the same IP.....

EDIT: It has been a while since I worked in the support areas so I am rusty...  In saying that Please excuse me if I sound like I am Talking Outta My prettythang:D

It looks like glbx is propagating a bad route to me.  They are responsible for the path of thier IP and once it leaves thier network things get rather stupid looking (The technical explanation for what is happening would take a while).

I would send these to your ISP and see if they will look into it.  They appear to have a peer point with glbx, so there should be some synergy.
