i hope the hurricanes would be updated next so they look as good as the spits as they seem to be over shadowed by all the spit pilots and in my opinion are a really good fighter if not the hurricanes either the temp/typhoons or the mosquito, which are all in need of a face lift.

Im all for the Hurricanes.
Maybe (hopefully) i will get my Seahurricane when they do that?
The first Hurricanes were lauchend from merchant ships with catapults to defend allied convoys. That was a one-way street for them, as the pilot had to ditch close to the convoy or bail, and hope to be rescued, i guess mainly because those ships didnt have a flight deck.
Later (in October 1941) the added hooks to the MkIB or MkIIA: Seahurricane MkIB, wich were able to launch (catapult) and land on small CVs (modified big merchant ships with a small flight deck).
The Seahurricane MkIC had the quad hispano mounted wings of our MkIIC.
The last british Seahurricane version was the MkIIC, which could be launched and land on conventional CVs.
So id either like a Seahurricane MkIB - 8x303s, or a Seahurricane MkIIC - 4x20mm (perked).
-
PLEASE :D
But why the perk for the Mk1C?
Not that I would fly that cannon armed monster much :D
-
Well, i suppose the whines would be high with another quad hispano high performance fighter in the game - and i need something to spend all those fighter perks on, a plane thats really worth it.
But id much prefer the MkIB as well anyway ;).
-
Cant perk hurri 2C...it's just too slow.
-

Me wants my 12 .303s :t

I would like that to but Schatzi is dangerous enough as it is.....
What would happen if HT added %50 to her fire power
LOL
:D

Just imagine the sound of those guns though...:D

Yeah, i always suspect half of my kills is the guy hitting ALT F4 due to sound card overload....

I suspect it will be a long time before the Hurri gets a facelift, but that ugly lump of poo is one of my favorite planes.
If we ever get either the A2G rockets or a CV version, I'll be thrilled.
-
Hey I got an idea: What about a Sea Hurri IIB? That way we get the sea hurri and the IIB but only have to add 1 version.
Were there any Sea Hurri IIBs?
-
anyone have a picture of the Hurricane IIB? did it actually have all them MGs?
-
IIB looks no different than a IIA, only outboard of the 4x 303s they added 2 more. Kind of far out on the tip, past all the ammo boxes for the 4x cluster. That made 6x guns per wing, total 12x 303s.
They realized that putting more and more rifle-caliber guns simply wasn't the same as just putting a couple of cannon, so the IIC came about with much more success. However, the IIB has 12-friggin-30cal!!! :P I'd fly that!
-
if it had 12 ma duces it would rip the wings off. not all airframes can withstand just adding more guns. take for instance the Fokker E.III. it had 3 guns but the vibration from them firing at once caused structual problems for the frail wooden frame.
-
Well also consider the weight of a 50cal vs a 303 caliber. The weight of the installation, the supports for it, and the ammo itself also must be considered. I don't think many planes COULD have carried 12 50cals. Maybe the P47, but it would take a seriously redesigned wing. The P47 did it all with 8 guns already, and that was considered a very heavy armament, so 12 ma deuces was just not practical :P
-
But it'd still be freakin' AWESOME. :D

I got a photo on my HD of a IIb armed with one 20mm & one 12mm per wing
-
That's probably a nonstandard Russian plane. They put all sorts of wierd ammo setups on their planes. They were notorious for field modifications. Heck, they added rear turrets to planes that didn't have them! C-47 and IL2 included! (IL2 didn't always have a back seat, they put it in with field modifications, then it became production standard)
