What a shame! Some restorer is going to be busy for a long time!
Its better to burn out then to fade away.

Sooner or later everything returns to dust.

Well...that's one way to cause your insurance agent to drop dead of a heart attack!

I remember when those things would bring $1M+ at auction.  At least now days they can be had in the $250k-400k range.

20 years ago I helped restore a '67 330GTS that had taken a telephone pole through the snout dead center...pushed the engine back so hard that the torque tube punched a hole out the backside of the transaxle.  After all was said and done, the owner shelled out $90k in parts + labor to put it back together.  Took 2 years to find or make all the parts.

This guy is going to have a hard time finding another transaxle for that car...the case is the same as on the 330 and I think I got the last one available in the world.

I agree.  He can put it in a museum just like that and draw just as much attention from casual visitors; probably more so now, since everyone likes to stop and look at a car wreck.

Hello, new member KgB.  What's the evidence for your assertion?

Edit: Also, see this link with more more photos (click next for more): http://www.wreckedexotics.com/275/275GTB_20040205_006.shtml

I'm calling you out, KgB.

I'm tired of people yelling "omg photoshop fake" and "haxer cheater!" and stuff like that, then just walking away and ignoring evidence that they're wrong.  It's like they're walking around, crapping on the ground, and not cleaning up after themselves.
