just seconds in, meaninglessly kills off the three characters Ripley spent the last movie saving.

I saw alien3 at the movie theater and this statment was the first thing that came to my mind when watching the movie.  The whole movie was one big disappointment after another.

He was right on for Hitchhikers' Guide,  it missed the mark,  and "Shaun of the Dead" was a better movie.

Surprised he didn't mention Ender's Game.  That's one that I don't think can ever be done right, but it would be incredible if it was.

That was good.  I'd definitely pay to see a Matrix prequel on the machine war and events prior... hell I'd go for a full length animation as in the Animatrix.

Ditto on Ender's Game!!!

That gamer's manifesto was pretty good too. :)

Star Wars Prequels I and II were the worst.

Why did each "droid" have it's own personality if all of them were controlled by the mother ship? If they were centrally controlled, why would they need audible speech? Why would they need ranks?

I think the story was changed so that they were droids so the Jedi could slaughter them whole-sale with light-sabers without getting the PC crowd in an uproar and an R rating for graphic violence.

The Berserker series by Fred Saberhagen could be turned into a great movie, if it is handled right.

I love this quote:

"A few of us can still play games at 30, I suppose. You cannot play games at 35 or 40 and seem like anything but an intellectually-stunted manchild, there in your sweater vest, the control pad tangled in your long, gray, drool-soaked beard. "

:D

This 44 year old intellectually stunted manchild has wasted away many hours with his next door neighbor drinking Jack Daniels and playing EA Sports NHL on the Playstation. ;)

The first time I saw Jar Jar I knew Star Wars was lost.  I thought they couldn't get any worse but episode III was a real stinker.
