Title: a complaint
Post by: storch on February 16, 2006, 09:01:16 PM
would you wise staffers consider enabling the 262 somewhere nearer to the frontline bases, maybe a sector or two back?. it was certainly more common that what is currently represented in the mini MA.  multiple spits and ponies flying from the same bases is not historical.  with 3:1 odds in the ackllieds favor with players up to 25k for endless bouts of cherrypicking is rapidly becoming old. the planeset is heavily stacked in the allied favor which is par for the course, try to balance it out a bit please.  the 262 wasn't so rare there fellows, allow that representation please.  if you won't (which I doubt you will) then base spits all in one place and ponies in another and P47s in another and P38s in another as it was, feel free to do the same with the LW.  what you have now is counter productive to what the spirit of the arena is supposed to represent.

The 262 was quite rare historically.  Their biggest day I could find record of (in spring of 45) involved 30-40 sorties vs. 2000 bomber and fighter sorties from the 8th AF, not to mention those of the other allied air forces.

As it is, I saw 4 of them today in 4 or 5 sorties, and saw someone land 4 kills in one, so they are hardly out of the action.

Takes 15-20 minutes to climb out and fly from A2 to the front lines, basically. It's a total waste of time. By then the entire fight is gone.

We were definitely getting swarmed by alt monkey allies while I was in there, until we started killin' 'em, then moving closer to their field, then it's the old tired cliche of 2 allies ganging you, you can handle them, but you're too close to the enemy field, WHOOPS, some guy you just killed shoots you down seconds after his gear is up.

P.S. That second thing gets old fast, too.

I think the current setup, especially w/ the spit16 forces one side to bite the bullet more now than anytime earlier in the campaign. Lots are flying the spit..I say bring the 262s in closer. Yes the 109K is fast..but the spixteen isnt slow. And if the 109 happens to get slow it isnt much of a fight.

Either that of retire the spit16, or allow captured ones for axis use.

blah blah blah!

you claim that these cherry picking allies are the poblem??

if this is true then why would you want to fly the fastest, worst turning, and clearly 'cherry-pick-o-matic' plane in the set up?

if you hate it so much, switch countries.

hey storch.you must have a lot of time on your hands.every time i turn around, you are "COMPLAINING",about something.i think if you put those whining energies toward your flying you would be a much better pilot.and then maybe you wouldn't have your "so called" ackllied pilots killing you so often. so remember storch "FOCUS","FOCUS",FOCUS.

killing me often?  I'm my own killer. 80% of my deaths are my stylish augers and tree trimming expeditions.  that or the water jumping up and grabbing me.  come spend a day in 109s then post something about your experiences.  there's more to the game that hurricaneIIs and spitfires.

EDIT: No, wait, I didn't. You were the typh/temp?

I lost an outer wingtip, but I could NOT trim myself level. 109s are porked now. Lost my LEFT wingtip. Trimmed full right rudder, still hard to control. Trimmed full right aileron as well. Jammed the stick full right WITH full rudder twist right, and STILL was rolling left. Looked out my damn wing and saw half of it there, SHOULD Have been enough, but HTC added so many bugs with the 2.6 patch that 109s suck.

I usually don't agree with this Axis Crud, but he does have couple of good whining points.   I would certainly favor certain bases with certain planes.  However if 262's were available only couple of sectors away, then all I would ever see are 262's.   I would also limit availability of Typhoons and Tempests since these planes, like most British Motors, were relegated to the maintenance hangers.

Gotta admit, Krusty is bang on RE: 109's.
I used to fly the G10 all the time, new patch comes, I try the K4 and it's nowhere near as good as the G10.
They must have really worked hard at introducing the "spin of death" at 150-200 mph.
The G14 is a super heavy G6 with a D3A engine.
As for keeping certain crates at certain bases, we should check with the powers that be as to what FG/SQN/JG was based where and then stick all the crates that they flew there.

I have to agree with this, jet encounters occurred, but they were quite rare (although bombers probably saw them more frequently than fighters).

Fact is, this is the point in the war where the LW was taking it in a dark and ugly place.  The disparity in numbers, and in airplane quality, that we're seeing here seems to me to be pretty factual.  Hey, back in the 1940-41 part of the RPS we all knew this was coming.  It's only going to get worse today and tomorrow.  Now is the time for all Real Virtual Men to show their true colors.

While I agree with Storch that basing British and US fighters at the same fields is NOT generally historical, separating them by zone will probably bring on the True Nightmare of Spitfest, where most of the allies are flying at the Spit bases, and the LW will actually encounter a greater number of the ladies.

I have a complaint.

I don’t care about the numbers, planes, timidness, lameness, gangyness, runnyness, altiness, or spittyness of the acklied.

What bugs me is that they are so BAD.

Makes me want to go acklied just so I can fight against some capable players.
