Title: Saving head position
Post by: RAS on February 17, 2006, 07:23:13 PM
When I save my head positions in flight, everything works as it is supposed to, except when I land and get another plane (same kind) I have to reset my head positions all over again.

Didn't the game used to save those from sortie to sortie?  I can recall it used to save them from game log to game relog.  Did this change, or do I need to "tweek" something to get them to stay the same again ?

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance

The game saves the head positions (if you pressed F10) for each plane type.  If you fly different types of planes, you will just need to save the positions for each plane you fly once.

This all presumes the files in the 'settings' folder are not marked read-only, AND the path to the game is the same path as it was installed in.

Thanks Skuzzy....yes, I use the F10 key to save the head position.  I checked the settings folder for the planes I have been trying to save them to and discovered the *.hps file to be read only.  I unchecked the box for read only and went into the game offline and saved the head positions.  They work again !!!

Thanks for the help (I hope the hps file was the only one I had to uncheck).  Not sure why they were read only.....also, noticed AFTER I set the new positions it shows the file to be "archived" now.  Hopefully that is ok.

Anyway, thanks again sir !
