Title: Furballing Films - good for learning the basics
Post by: B@tfinkV on February 18, 2006, 06:55:25 AM
Two films, one in the master of the furball - the hurricaneIIC - the second in the master of killing things painfully - P47-D40.

SA and quick descisions will help you stay alive and get more kills.

dont target fixate.

check your 6.

try and avoid Head On shots.

check your 6.

kill something.

give people six calls.

check your 6.

target the highest threat first, and don't rope yourself out by climbing to stall point.

can't think of much to add, watch the films and enjoy. ask questions and people will no doubt answer.

Some great stuff Bat. How did you have your convergence pattern laid out for the 47? Looks like it was set fairly far out and you were sniping stuff from quite a ways off.

That chainsaw effect of the 8 50 cals makes me shiver every time I see the hits. You'd swear an enemy plane was a Christmas tree from all the lights registering on his profile.

:D

hehe, aside from quad hispano, i'd say the jug's 50s are the best for killing.

i set convergence to 275 for the four inside guns, and 300 for the 4 outside guns.

effectively this means at 600 yrds you get a rough spread the same distance apart as your wing mountings... IE: destroys anything with a good burst on target.

with slow moving targets like in most furballs i will open fire from 650-500 yrds, and plan to finish the kill by 300.

this has its disadvantages though, as you can see by the 'light tickle' i gave a seafire from 80 yrds with a quick crossing shot.

also, in the jug with the large ammo load, you can afford to waste a few rounds so hit them hard and dont stop till they fall to pieces

if you have AcesHigh configured correctly , you just click on the film and it will automatically open in the film viewer and load up ..clic the play button and turn on icons .  f4 is trailing view

be patient with the viewer sometimes it takes awhile to load.

The first time you need to open the viwer with the exe to associate AHFs with it. Go to START > PROGRAMS > ACES HIGH II > Aces High Film viewer.

Download the films and save them to desktop. Open the viewer and then open the films in it. Best you watch them with Recorded views, icons and trails checked. External view.

go to your "C:\HTC\Aces High II\ahfilm.exe" directory you should find the ah film viewer in there some where.............

or you might have it installed as C:\programfiles\HTC\Aces High II\ahfilm.exe          or heck just do a search for ahfilm.exe it will tell ya where you put it..............

well if the advice already given doesnt help you, i would suggest sending an email to HTC, posting something in the tech help forum, or learning the basics of win XP. I honestly cant say any more than has already been said by others. don't worry, my films suck anyhow ;)
