Title: Very cheap USB sound card review
Post by: x0847Marine on February 18, 2006, 04:30:14 PM
A friend gave me a  $35 "C-media" USB sound card for my B-day...
This one:
http://www.cmedia.com.tw/product/CM106.htm
5.1 / 7.1, SPDIF in/out

Its low budget, kinda smurfy, I was thinking of tossing it... but it was a gift.

Plug it in, worked, drivers loaded... actually sounds good.

5.1 works, SPDIF in from my Dishnetwork out works, AH sounds decent. The mic however refused to work with any volume

Because its so cheaply made and packaged I'd probably never consider it had I seen it, but so far its working just fine for a $35 thing.

It wouldnt be my 1st choice, but as cheap as it was if youre on a Top Roman budget... its worth a look.
