We're going to see the ILA air show in Berlin (hopefully 262's) on May 20th (Saturday, if I'm reading my calendar properly) with Sasmox, Wasq, BlauK and miself. If anyone's near Berlin, we'll be there from thursday evening to sunday evening, we've already booked the flights and the hotel for thu-sun. We're also going to visit the Luftwaffen-museum (Gatow) and the Deutshes Teknische Museum. (And we'll be drinking beer during the trip... :))
edit: the link to the official Berlin Air Show pages: http://www.ila-berlin.com/ila2006/home/index_e.cfm

262s are considered safe to fly this late in time?
-
Have a good time. Wish we could all be there.:)

Is there anyone else who is going to participate this happening?
Schatzi? Schutt? Gianlupo?
-
Hiya Sas! I'll try, but, just as for Finncon, no promises! :p
Maybe the Germans will make it!
-
The list of aircraft to be seen there can be found from the Berlin Air Show ILA2006 website (http://www.ila-berlin.com/ila2006/airshow/flugg_kat_e.cfm). There's going to be a lot of interesting air displays even though the 262-replica hasn't been confirmed yet.

We (Schutt and me) will be in Berlin Sat 20th at about 9:00 am....
Gian, get your sorry Italian butt into gear and book a weekend in Germanys capital!!!!!! :)
-
That's quite tempting... but I'm afraid my busy schedule does not allow it.
On the other hand, my leetle Fiat Panda diesel should easily handle that distance and I'd like to see Berlin again too.
Hmm, choices, choices.
-
Hogenbor, you should definately come there if even remotely possible. If you can make it, shoot me an e-mail (through my profile here) and we could meet for a beer.
3 weeks to go... Anyone else coming?

I would be thrilled to meet you, but I am pretty sure I wouldn't enjoy having my bottom kicked...

well figuring they have J-85's (http://www.geae.com/engines/military/j85/index.html) they have a min thrust rating of 2,850 vs the Jumo 004 (http://www.wpafb.af.mil/museum/engines/eng52.htm) with only 1,980 lb's of thrust ... Ill let you do the rest of the math ... muhahahahaa
-

The pleasure of meeting you guys was all on our side :). I had a great time at the ILA and in Gatow (despite the modern technics trying to keep us from communicating - i never got those messages). I hope we can do that again in two years for the ILA 2008.
Oh, and BTW, ILA was a record visitor wise: 250,000 visitors in 6 days, thats 25% more then 2004!
As for those drinks..... i had promised ;), and youre very welcome. Thank YOU for your Winter War present!

I wonder who painted the 109 and 262. The camo scheme seems, well, not historical. Or maybe it is supposed to look non-historical?
"i wonder how fast that 262 could go if they didn't cripple it with the replaica inlets & plumbed it for "re-light""
It would go very fast indeed. But not under control. :D

-
Oh man! There was even a Skyraider! And a Catalina! And Big Beautiful Doll!!! Sigh...
