Title: tv is monitor

I was wondering if anyone uses there tv as a monitor. I have been thinking about getting rid of my old tv, and monitor, and getting like a 32" hdtv to use for both. I have seen some deals for under 1k for some decent tvs, but i'm not sure if its a good or bad idea. I want to save some space, but dont want to lose picture quality during gameplay.
Any recommendations on a 27"-32" tv?

The only downside I can see to a 32" monitor is that it is almost to big to sit close to, as on a desk and too small to use from accross the room.  I sit 9' from my 58"
