Would it be possible to have a virtual classroom or briefing room with a virtual white/black board? So that interested parties could be invited to the room wherein they can interact with each other over vox, text, and be able to draw pictures on whiteboard? Like a conferencing kind of thing. So you could draw diagrams of maneuvers or attack profiles or bases etc etc etc. Perhaps have field 'overlays' etc for briefing purposes??

It would be abused. I know this cause I would be one of the many that would.

There you go :)

yer, it all looks pretty enough, but what about its functionality?

You could link it to the Mission Planner.
I don't think a whiteboard sort of feature would be smart, but the idea is right.
In the case of a mission, there will be one mission leader (the one who created the mission). The mission leader will be able to display eventual waypoints, armament, targets etc. on the screen.
The rest of the pilots will be sent to the briefing room some 5 minutes before the start of the mission. (And sit on the chairs)
A special radio channel would be feasible for inside the Briefing Room.

Im thinking of not so much a place to plan missions per se, but rather a 'room' which you can set up and explicitly invite players into (or they reuqest with .join or something) so that you can have a whiteboard which all people can see and draw on. Would be quite handy for somethings.
Mind you, dedicated software already exists for this tho, but as did Roger Wilco before HTC put vox in AH...

<------ agrees
Although Mission Planner would be perfect for it.
Maybe you can even check your personal stats here?

Do you mean a white board, much like the "Doodle" environment Yahoo Messenger has, so you can "draw out" your plan of attack, so you have a visual?
If so...sounds like a decent idea. I foresee many lewd stick people drawings...but asides that, why not?
-
yer, thats pretty much what i meant. Lewd drawings aside, the person who 'opens' the 'room' would explicitly invite those who they want to share the whiteboard with. So lewd interuptions/abuse would be minimal. Anyone can mouth off on txt channel 246 but if no-one's looking, no-one cares. If a tree falls in a forest with no-one around... [ok ill stop]
I foresee a common place that say a squad can 'meet up' in and for training (or planning) purposes to draw diagrams of what a lead turn is, or a rolling sissors etc. I know IM does that, but i cant get it working behing my NAT/firewall and ditto for the rest of my squadron. Plus to have incorporated into AH would be nice and 'intergrated' :)

Our current Mission Planner does that. :huh

I meant the screen in the briefing room :) (like that map of Holland on the pic)

It would be nice if stuff could be uploaded and then pulled up by clicking on the black board...................
Imagine we had 6 "pages" available from the black board.
2 may be default and the 4th a text or pic upload
1)map with waypoints
2)mission data ( rides, fuel, ordinance, start times and pilots)
3)Text with detailed mission instructions or target details (a zoom view of the target collected during making the mission plan with the way lines criss crossing it)
4)Text with detailed mission instructions or target details (a zoom view of the target collected during making the mission plan with the way lines criss crossing it)
5)Text with detailed mission instructions or target details (a zoom view of the target collected during making the mission plan with the way lines criss crossing it)
6)Text with detailed mission instructions or target details (a zoom view of the target collected during making the mission plan with the way lines criss crossing it)
This allows primary and secondary targets with text instructions for bombers and escorts bound in the same mission.
