Title: P-38s of the 475th FG

I'm going to be doing a good line of P-38s (metal and OD) from the 475th FG. I'm going to start with the 431st FS then do the early versions of some of those planes then move to another FS/FG.  I'll be updating this post with new schemes when they get done.

First up is Vickie.

Next will come PeeWee V, then i'll finish Putt Putt Maru (really is finished but on the laptop)  then I'll Pudgy (OD and Metal) , T.RIGOR MORTIS III, and a few others if i find more pictures.

And the skin does look nice.  Skin 'em all I say.  Let HTC sort em out and rotate them if necessary.

Fester, given the 100,000+ USAF fighter planes over europe, and the fact that 90% of them were bare metal finish, and the fact that large large numbers of planes all had the same markings except for a different tail number, I think it's warranted to remind folks that "we don't need a plane from every squadron/group if we have one from another group that has identical markings".

I'm not saying "Don't skin it". I'm saying "It's been done, so maybe skin something more unique."

475th skins rule...  skin them all if you want to.  i do like the look of your metal razer.  

good job krusty, was right on cue btw.

Well the handles that start with "F" are all the same too.

"F____, given the 100,000+ people with handles in the game, and the fact that 90% of them have letters and numbers, and the fact that large numbers of the handles start with capital letters and all had the some letters following but rearranged, I think it's warranted to remind folks that we don't need seperate handles from every letter/number if we have one from another letter of the alphabet that has identical letters".

Let me say one more thing.  I respect the work that anyone does skinning an aircraft for this game.  Its not easy and if done halfway right it is a substantial commitment to the game and all the fellow pilots.  However, if a skin is done and no one does fly it, that is a shame.  The fact that the 475th has such a dedicated group of P-38 pilots ensures that the skins will be flown and that is a good thing. :aok

Ah, yes, sorry for the Fester/Fencer thing... I just look at folks' avatars nowadays :P [Edit: by that I knew who Fencer was when I said "I like him too much" -- just typed the wrong name for the right person]

I do agree with you, make no mistake. But if I modeled 4 different Jagdgruppe 109G6s from the same squadron (but different Gruppe) they would be 99% identical, as well! In fact, chances are the only difference would be the tail codes and the color of the tail codes.

Nobody would appreciate them. Nobody would use them. hell HTC might even reject them (maybe, I doubt it, but maybe).

So yes, if you can't live without skinning a plane that's already been done, go ahead and skin it. I just think it's a waste of talent (personally), that could be used on a more unique skin for the same plane.

Can never have to many 475th skins.  

Personally I prefer flying with the bare metal looks the nicest.  Looks best when flying out and about and when taking screenies.  When an enemy comes in on you from a high o'clock when the sun is high up, turn the wing and blind him, cant do that with olive drab. :t

Just need more 475th J skins.  Only 1 475th J skin in the MA and do we need more as the only one is getting to be a bit boring.
