I am sure this has already been suggested, but going back a couple of pages I did not find it.
I would like to see a second 'tunable' vox channel in the radio buffer.
One where you can type your wingman's name in and be able to set a key to talk to just that player while still having squad vox channel. In events this would be most helpful to not be walking all over one another on vox when trying to talk to your wingman.
-
I'd rather have tunable range, so that instead of range you could tune to a player or a channel. It would default to range, but you could tune away from it (to shut range off) or tune to other channels. Essentially, 2 vox channels.

Hey I like that, we can have a wingman channel and tune out all the 'Generals' at the same time:aok
-
I like the wingman channel idea.

Ditto.

Yer, i mentioned this a few weeks back. Either another vox channel for wingman, or just make the current 'range' channel a fully-tunable radio so we can tune it to whatever channel we need.

The range channel bites, the should do it like they did with channel 1 and create a tuneable range channel. 2 tuneable channels would be much better...
As much vulgarity gets spewed out on range as channel 1 once had...

If you dont want to wait, use teamspeak.
Can run in the background, can create private channel on the teamspeak test server, and log in with wingman. Voice activated, so dont need to push any buttons.
HAvent had any rpoblems with stability, unlike AIM or Yahoo Vox -- prob because my computer doesnt have to act as server when I create a chat room.
Program is small and free. Link to teamspeak (http://goteamspeak.com)

The problem isn't what channel you transmit on but all the noise over the range channel.
I run a TS server for my squad / pals and have for years it does nothing to filter out the 'chat room channel' conversations.
-
You can turn the VOX volume all the way down in AH settings and us only Teamspeak, if you hate Range so much.

I was addressing the "wish i had a wingman channel" issue more than the "range vox stinks" issue.
In the past, I recall HTC felt that allowing range to be turned off would adversely affect community and effective play. The request has been made before, the reasons have been expounded, and the result has been -- no change.

No shyte, but when in game when you want to wing with a person you need to have him alt-tab out then load up TS and give the IP and password where by allowing range to be tunable you would just type in his name. Winging with a squad mate or someone you fly with regularly isn't an issue. Its at those times when you just wing up with some one (non-squad mate) you haven't with flown before when a tunable 2nd channel would come in handy.
Skernsk brought up events, in the past TS has been used to establish additional tunable channels so that CMs, COs and GLs could communicate with out disrupting the squad and range channels.
For the main and with folks you don't fly with regularly simply turning down game vox and pm'ing IPs and passwords is less then ideal. Before AH vox the channel buffer was linked to RW. Folks tuned to a channel to talk. You could pick out a wingman or join another squad's 'squad channel' just by typing in the channel number in the channel buffer. For some this is much better then having a locked open range channel.

What's that got to do with anything? Just about everything in this section of the forum has been brought up multiple times. I have been playing this game since beta, there's very little that's 'new' or original'.
