Was big in AW back in the day. I liked it because you didnt black our or red out while flying - I noticed that Aces high does this. Is there any arenas or an option to turn this off?

Welcome to the war torn skies of Aces High. What you're referring to is relaxed realism which doesn't exist in AH. perhaps it does in H2H and OFFLINE mode.. never really took notice.
You do have the option of enabling the "Stall Limiter" in flight set-up but you'll never learn a planes envelope limits flying that way. Just keep at it and fly one plane for a few weeks. You'll soon discover the g limitations and learn to ride the black/red out bubble.

No, theres no way to disable the black/redout. Not even offline. All you can do is enable stall limiter as Max already suggested. It will keep you from pulling into stall (ie too hard) - but its a crutch that makes you loose a LOT of your planes performance. In the long run you wont get far with it enabled.
If youre interested, come by the Training arena. A good flying/fighting style will not include too much blacking out. Its a matter of Energy/speed management.
Welcome back.

If he don't remember them then he sure wasn't "big" in AW.
Prolly a AOL RR dweeb.

Now Shaky..be nice..be politically correct........:)
Mr Yelnif. The Relaxed Realism in AW known as RR did not have blackouts and spins.
There is no such arena in AH. Its all full realism.
But I'll tell ya what. Being a hardcore full realism (FR) pilot in AW I actually was worse if I flew RR. You have to pull too hard on the stick ALL the time and that hurt my arm;-)
Seriously..you actually have more control in FR and in a sense it's actually easier. Adjust your speed more which is something you probably weren't used to in RR AW.
Practice lowering your speed. In a fast turn let up on the stick enough just so you are barely blacking out (you still see a circle). That's called riding the edge and it will be good practice for you.
As to spins..just don't pull so hard on the stick.

Sorry to dissapoint you Shaky, never flew RR... ever. I started in SVGA AW but haven't touched an air combat sim since the free AOL period ended, till a few months ago I found AH. My memory of 6 - 10 years ago isn't that sharp. CYAUP.
