Title: Router and connection issues
Post by: DREDIOCK on February 27, 2006, 11:41:29 PM
Same buddy as in other post.

Only recently started having connectivity issues since a router and a second computer was added. Prior to that connection was fine

Any idea on cause and effect and possible solutions?

I think that Aces High needs at least the following ports open:  2000-5000 for both TCP/IP and UDP.  Skuzzy will know for sure.  Your router or firewall might be blocking traffic on some ports.  Most routers when you first get them default to allowing traffic on all ports, but maybe someone configured yours differently.  Or, if you also installed a new firewall or changed firewall software or changed firewall settings, that could do it, too.

This document is for how to set up to host head-to-head sessions, so it is overkill for just playing the game normally, but it does show how to open ports, deal with the Windows firewall, etc.

Oh, it's a personal motivation thing?  So, he won't play Aces High, and you still let him be your friend?! :)
