Was good fun when Stang put together a mission for P40 drivers to honor Robert Scott of "God is my Co-Pilot" fame. Scott passed away 2/27 at the age of 97
First image is of Robert Scott and his P40E "Old Exterminator" during his time in China when he became an ace with 13 kills.

Second image is Stang leading 20 P40s out on the mission. The sky was raining P40s over 121 tonite. Great fun :)

Missed it due to fun defense of a cv near 85. But I have credit applied. :)

:aok Looks like trouble brewing.
When you say "raining P40s", do you mean entire P40s, or just components? ;)

In my case it was components :)
It was funny watching all those Spit 16 and LA7 drivers running like mad from the crazy P40 drivers.

God is my Co-Pilot
Great fning movie!! Sure the moments that were not about fighting were cheesy, but it is an old movie. Action and flying shots are many and great!
Scott certainly lived a great life and did over and above his duty. and happy skies.

Next time you watch the movie, note that the P40s used for the flying sequences are Merlin engined P40Fs or Ls :) No air intake on top of the cowling.
