Post by: Sandman on February 28, 2006, 08:08:04 PM: My son was going on and on about this game (http://www.guitarherogame.com/) and then my neighbor showed up one night with it.

We played it that once and then I ordered one also.

My kids love it even though there's nothing to shoot at.

Seriously, I've heard good stuff about that "game" and I'm glad at least one company is making nice non-shooter games. Never seen it in person though.

Post by: Estes on February 28, 2006, 08:29:57 PM: I actually have one. :) It's pretty cool. Instead of strings, it has 5 buttons? Can't remember, either 4 or 5 colored buttons. That you press when the game tells you too.

The actual game has alot of good music in it too.

My son plays at hard and expert level.

It gives me Nintendo thumbs just watching.

I believe you can pick up a decent beginner set for 180. Why would you ever waste money on a fake guitar?

Maybe people like myself who don't care anything about guitars or learning how to play one? I got mine for the kid mainly, however I play it sometimes.

It's not a fake quitar. It's a playstation controller shaped like a guitar. It's a game, not a musical instrument.

Lots of improvements over the first game, most notably the cooperative mode. You can play with one person taking the lead while another takes rhythm or bass.

Pretty good song list too. It has the Allman Brothers' "Jessica" and even Free Bird. The Foo Fighter's "Monkey Wrench" is a hoot.
