In all seriousness, if you can afford it, get a better video card. Spend the money and get a 6800 or 7800... later, you can get a clone for it when your computer starts to lose its 'speed advantage'.

I agree with Delirium , if your going to have a higher end cpu , you should get a video card that will utilize it . Thats like putting a big block chevy in your car , then using a yugo rear end hehe 38
EDIT: Just came across this on newegg , What a deal!

To save some cash, get a 6800 (NOT GS or GT) and use the free program RivaTuner to unlock the hidden shaders. It's really simple to do; a Google search will dump a couple hundred tutorials on it, and if not you can email me. As long as you don't mess with the other settings in RT, it won't burn your card either. ;)
Basically, the 6800, 6800GS, and 6800GT are all the same card. nVidia just locked parts of the card off, moreso on the 6800. This way they could mass produce all of the chips and simply lock a couple. By unlocking the pixel and vertex shaders that are blocked off, you take a 6800 and turn it into a 6800GT. I did it and my FR hasn't improved at all, but it's much more stable (as in I can fly into a furball with a GV war under it and see a drop of 10 FR instead of 20).
Just to give a comparison, this computer runs full sliders, 4X AA, at 40-60 FPS (60 Hz monitor)...except on Karelia :D
-3.0GHz Northwood P4
-Gigabyte GA-8IPE1000 Pro-G motherboard
-Corsair ValueSelect 512MBx2 (1GB), CAS Latency 2.5, DDR400 (PC3200)
-XFX nVidia 6800 (unlocked to 6800GT)
-Sound Blaster Audigy 2 ZS
Nothing's ever been overclocked, unless you count the unlocking as OCing...

The card i linked to above is a X850XT for 169 bucks. For that price you will get a card faster than a 6800 ultra for about 10 or 15 dollars more than a vanila 6800 .

Wrong.
AH is one of the few multi thread aware games.
It will utilise dual cores.
Save yourself a lot of hassle and use Windows 2000.

"Not quite right Krusty. Aces High II is one of a few games in the industry who do make true use of multi-threading. However, there is a problem with the AMD dual-core systems, particularly when using an NVidia video card. MS has been working on the problem, which indicates there is something amiss in the operating system.
Dual-core/HT enabled Intel CPU's have no known issues with Aces High II, at this time.
Things that are automatically threaded in the Windows gaiming environment include, networking, and sound (if the sound card has real hardware available - AC97 is not hardware). We also add threads for some other background stuff in Aces High II."
Only thing I do not completely agree on -
Its not so much nVidia cards, it's Win XP that has the problem. Use Win 2000 it works great.

I have windows xp pro, so ill have to look into things. other thread something about having to delete something in the boot.ini file.
as far as the card goes, 6600 is what i got for now. wife was nice enough to let me get that, lol. she dont believe you should have to buy a new vid card when buying a new puter. the card that comes with the puter i bought was a 6100. will do for now. look to upgrade in future.
