The P39 and P63 would both be cool.

Hitech & Skuzzy are nicely brought up and polite young gentlemen; therefore I suggest that "I would like please" might be more appropriate.

Remember what your mummy tells you about children who say "I want" all the time.  ;)

Seriously, it's not an unreasonable request, but you need to tell us why you want the P-63 that badly.

Regards

My bad, I was kinda tired and sorta cranky. Anyways, the P-39 isn't really that great of a plane. The design was prone to crazy stalling and it was sorta underpowered in its early years. Now the P-63(although it looks just like the 39) is a completely different plane. Most of it's parts weren't even swappable with the 39's. It had a powerful engine and a great armament, had almost no design flaws(it still stalled like crazy like the 39), and we need this plane so we have more russian planes. There we go.

Only a handful of Kingcobras joined VVS regiments in the European theatre during WWII. However, the Airacobras were much used (and liked) by the Soviets, and were in use from 1942 to 1945 (and even post-war). See Geust & Petrov: Red Stars vol. 4 (Lend-Lease Aircraft in Russia), ISBN 952-5026-23-X.

I hate to be a stats anorak on this one, but of the 3303 P-63s built, 2421 were sent to the Russians - more than a handful.  I don't know how many saw active service tho' - maybe only a few?

The RAF tried the P-39 in 1941 (601 squad) but it wasn't popular apparently because of poor servicability - it had a lot of new and innovative features our guys weren't happy with.

However the Russkies thought both these planes were the dogs bollocks, mainly because they were good ground support - tough and heavy guns.  They also did fairly well in a2a combat.

Regards.
