1. When a person says a retaliatory military force is not appropriate, ask "why not?"
2. He will say something along the lines of " it will just cause more innocent deaths, which would be awful and we should not cause more violence."
3.When he is in mid-sentence, punch him, HARD.
4.When he gets back up to punch you, point out that it would be a mistake and contrary to his values to strike you. It would be awful and he should not cause more violence.
5. When he has agreed and pledged not to commit additional violence, punch him again, HARDER.
6.Repeat steps 4 and 5. Sooner or later he will understand that sometimes it is necessary to punch back.

Grizz, that doesn't prove the person in your example wrong. He is against the harm of _innocents_... when you punch him, he is fully capable of kicking your bellybutton in retaliation without compromising his ideals, since you're hardly innocent.
It's the people who only preach 'violence begets violence' that you should punch.

Give peace a chance, man.
If we find out why they hate us and do what they want maybe they won't perpetrate mass murder against us.
Turn the other cheek. Better yet, spread both of 'em wide open.
