Title: quick medical question
Post by: Estes on March 09, 2006, 06:28:24 PM
I know someone is going to say it, and yes I've been to my doctor. However, this morning I woke up with a severe headache after getting an MRI done yesterday so I went to my general doctor.

Turns out, the headache is just tension headaches and sinus junk. Which leads me to my real question. He had my neurologist fax over the preliminary (sp) results of the MRI, which will be included in this post certain things blurred out.

I will be going back to see her (the neuroglogist) soon but, I was just curious if any of you could shed some light on the medical mumbo jumbo. My doctor really couldn't say much as hes not a neurologist, but he said it's degenerative disc disease and blah blah.

My question is mainly if any of you know any of the other medical terms that is on there.

Thanks in advance.

Are you serious? You're asking for someone from the O'Club to read and explain your MRI?

About the best you'll get here is someone saying, "Two weeks."

Hope the headaches get better.

Well, I half figured that. I also thought that maybe someone had something similar and could shed some light on it.

You will likely get some greasy fat old guy here saying how what you just posted is politically incorrect.

Why would you assume no one here can read that?

They did a limited Cervical Spine MRI without contrast, from the 4th Cervical vertebrae to 3rd Thoracic vertebrae.

Between Cervical Spine 3&4 and 5&6,  Degenerative Disc Disease

Doctor recommends thoracic spine MRI with GADO injection (an MRI contrast agent) and perform the MRI with and without the GADO injection.

Oh, btw, I slept at a Holiday Inn Express last night.

For most of us, you live long enough you'll have some DDD somewhere.

All I know is that I’ve finally got a good doctor’s signature so I can write my own prescriptions!

As luck would have it, a friend of mine that is an MRI tech came to the house shortly after I read that.

I just thought it would be funny if he told me what it was and you could get a pretty accurate answer so quickly.

It was all serendipity though.

The guy DOES do it for a living but he said all Docs use a bit different shorthand. He's pretty sure that is a fair summary of what it says.

I really didn't sleep at a Holiday Inn, either.   ;)
