Thinking about buying a good set of yoke and pedals for AH. Worth it or not? Course, the way I fly, anything might be an improvement. Let's hear it. Pro and Cons. :O

i dont know anyone that seriously plays any combat sim with a yoke. better to use the cash and get a decent joystick instead. i'd recommend HOTAS, X52 being great, CH even better
-
are you the SgtDibs in game as well?
-
Theres nothing wrong with using a yoke in a combat game, in fact the P-38 used a yoke! The real issue is that you get more buttons and easier one hand operation with a stick.....on a side not....pedals GET PEDALS!
-
I suppose one could mount a steering wheel on a motor bike... a bit like more bus like feeling for a fighter
Yup.. get a stick ;)
-
I wouldn't mind a yoke so much except for the practical reasons
- they usually have a very small number of buttons
- they take both hands, when your other hand could be positioned on a throttle or by the base of a conventional stick to press the buttons and work the throttle
- they're larger, take more room, and the ones I've seen usually need to be clamped/suction-cupped to the table/desk you're using. This means less flexibility, less comfort.
-
Well,
I've got a CH Yoke and CH Combat Stick along with the Pedals and Throttle.
I have never once used the Yoke with AH as I find it too inprecise. Get a stick.
I do highly recommend the yoke for Flight Simulator though, its very at home in that sim.

Yup one in the same! Are you the real Morpheus?

Some guys won some CH yokes at the last con. Never heard how they liked them for AH. (some of Daddogs crew I believe?) If your a P-38 lover or buff driver it would have to be pretty cool,
-
You can use a yoke just fine in here, like the CH Products USB Yoke. It's fully programmable and everything within easy reach.
I'm considering getting one along with their quadrant throttle and use that to fly the P-38 in here.
ack-ack

Naw, I was doing 3 to 5 for killing Knits but they let me off for wasting a bunch of Rooks while in lock up. Have been out awhile doing the charity thing for a new company we've started. I know you missed killing me and I'm back for more instant death...Dustoff, Hooorah!

I bought the CH yoke and CH pro pedals. The yoke blew chunks. The forward and back motion is way to slow to use in a fighter sdituation. It would be great for Microcraps Flight sim with 747's maby but for a fighter sim?No chance in hell of keeping up with the speed needed.I returned the yoke after 5 minutes of play and got the CH Fighterstick.
