Duck proves my point. Look at his K/D Ratio with 6 X.50's. I don't think you'll find any CHOG drivers in the top 10 of K/D ratio that are primarily driving the Chog.

After flying the 51 for a few days I have to agree.. it seems uber.
Can down a Lanc in a single burst... b17 in one pass... couple of F4u's and a b26...
with ammo to spare...

Actually I'd have to disagree.. I get caught on a regular basis by Chogs,Tiffies and the G10. So disengagin at will isn't entirely true.
Also, I have seen several Chogs disengage from me and leave me behind rather easily as we both dive for the deck.

I've never considered the 51 much of a threat before.

I believe Pony is one of the most (if not the most) survivable planes in MA. But It can be chased down. She has to be flown with skill and patience to rack kills without getting killed himself. She can disengage, but not at will, or can face some nasty surprise. She is not tough. Her weapons are average. She can not depend on snapshots. Lucky shots are just that.
Au contraire, C-Hog can be chased as well. Maybe easyer. She can be flown skillessly and carelessly and still rack kills. She can disengage at will except from a couple planes and forever (just give her a single ping snapshot window (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/wink.gif)). She is tough as a brick. She has super-duper weapons with none of the flaws modelled. She excels in spray 'n pray. Except for some exceptions, she only depends on snapshots and HO. Luckyshots are each landed ping. She is not uber. She is Quakebird.
Btw., gurlymen fly C-Hogs. Real men confront them. Real courage is shown in zekes. Or C-202 peashooters (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/tongue.gif)

Bingo toad. Either these guys really suck at ACM or they have no idea what 4 x 20's can do. I am just as lethal in a FW190A8 as I am in the F4U, and I have relativly the same K/D ratio lifetime in both A/C..alittle better in the A8. You hear that Ram? I'd take a Chog and show you what can do a Fw190A5 driver with four plasma cannons, aswell. Or with a spitIX,with two, for that matter.
Happens that I dont fly planes I dont like. And, while the Corsair used to be one my favorite planes before coming to AH, now I only can hate it.
BTW I'm not surprised of your 32/1 K/D in P51. Last time I flew it full time I got a 3/1 K/d flying for fun and not to live (that means actually close fighting in it against multiple enemies, and not running for acks when I come co E with an enemy (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/biggrin.gif)).

I like to fly. I love to fight. Maybe that is the reason I like A5 over A8. With the A8 I can't kick prettythang in close fights, only BnZ.

Far from it Gatt, and those that know me know that if there was an average baseline to measure pilot quality from, I'd be the baseline...joe Average. If Joe Average can do that in a P51 (where most of my kills were under 20K) then the P51 is simply too uber for this arena.

I kinda like the 109. I manage to fly pretty well against others until I auger into the ground. But I look good up to that part.
Actually the only thing that bothers me once in awhile is the C-Hogs ability to reach out adn "touch you".
I still believe there are only uber pilots, not uber planes. The one thing I have learned in this simulation is the ability to identify a uber pilot during the first few seconds of the melee.

I might think the 51 is uber.. but that doesn't mean I think we should get rid of it! Geez.. how the heck else am I supposed to get kils ???!!!
Seriously, The more diversity the better. It will be interesting to see how the new point system affects game play.. hopefully it'll mean that more early war planes will be flown.

I know you love the thing but Ive about had my fill of it. Ever since 1.04 came out I have simply become more and more suspicious that performance accuracy has taken a backseat to gameplay and then some.
My problem is I have a good understanding of what I believe is acceptable within the relm of gravity, and although I am a very easy going type, too much BS and I just burst into a billion little spheres of hemoglobin.
Its not pretty.

I suspect this is a troll.
However, if it aint, if F4u drivers complain the stang is too fast (which it was faster than hogs historically) then why dont zeke pilots complain that the P38 or Niki is too fast?
Some planes are faster than others, some are slower than others, ergo: there are planes that can run from others; and there always will be.
This truly is the most pathetic call i have heard in a long time. Yaks, 109G10, tiffie, even La5 can catch P51s unless its a co-e situation on the deck and the stang is outta gun range then the mustang may slowly pull away - but so what? Mustangs are easy to kill by the aforementioned planes.
If any plane is too uber in this plane-set its the Yak, its as fast as the mustang, turns better, climb better, rolls better, accelerates better and has a cannon.

Spat, it is a troll. But a troll to enlighten those who attack another A/C type that may threathen their rides. The F4U was porked in FM performance in V1.03. Laz, F4UDOA,and even Wells showed FACTS AND DATA that the F4U FM was porked. I and others showed proof that the guns were OVERMODELED in V1.03. So, HTC fixed it. Now the FM is closer to what the numbers were historically, the guns were toned down...but yet we still have folks complaining about this plane with no facts or data like the afore mentioned provided in v1.03.

however, your tactic of counter-complaining doesnt help your cause of defending the F4U FM or the chogs guns. I guess, if you truly meant it as a troll, then you never intended it to be a complaint. There are alot of people very passionate about the P51 (me included) who dont take to trolls like this too well.

This whole thread is funny. As of now the in the arena the P-51D has 486 kills and been killed by the F4UC 581 times. Does this mean the F4UC is overmodeled.... Nope! I Only fly the OVERMODELED UBERRUNSTANG and all my kills are within 400yds. I have 17 Kills of the F4UC and been killed 3 times by the blue WhimpMobile! I think Chogies are one of the easiest kills in the game. Most Chog pilots are using the same tired moves and are so predictable they are easy prey! If the F4UC had a 5 inch gun and a top speed of 600kts, someone would still figure a way to kill the Bluebird!!!! Any plane is lethal if you know its strengths and any plane can be killed if you know its weakness. When a pilot learns how to kill a particular plane... All you here are WHINES and pilots trying to dictate how you should fly or claiming fowl. ANY PILOT SHOULD FIGHT HIS OWN FIGHT,IN HIS OWN PLANE AND FIGHT ON HIS TERMS. The Uber 51 is the biggest crock of crap i have ever heard.
I fly the damn thing and i like it, but only because i like E-fighting insted of the dweebish spit round and round crap. put a newbie in a 51 and his bellybutton is dead, put him in a spit, chog, nik and he will do ok, so basically people are complaing that the PEOPLE that fly the 51 is whuppin their ass, well the truth is whoever is in that stang that just killed ya could probably do it in almost any other plane. The 51 isnt overmodelled, but the majority of the people that fly it are Badasses, so it seems that its uber, when the pilot is the thing thats uber..

Bring the Me262, the P47N and the P-51H into the arena. Then give one of them to a below-average pilot. After he has been shot down due to his low SA, somebody will say: "Look, its not the plane, its the pilot, the P-51H or the P-47N are not uber-fighters, stop whining, play or quit!"
The first time one of you will strafe a Me262 taking off or landing someone will say: "See, the 262 has its weaknesses, stop ranting, you bloody whiners; again its the pilot and not the plane!"

The bottom line is that as long as there is more than 1 plane to fly there will always be "uber" squeaking of some kind, HTC knows this aswell and i really doubt all of this wineing will accomplish anything more than amusement, but it is amusing though.
