Title: If you have a spare stick, or you're left handed
Post by: Spiffing on March 16, 2006, 03:13:32 PM
I'm a lefty and therefore cannot use the x45,52 or whatever the other top of the range sticks are with a seperate throttle controll for two handed play. BUT..... in damaging my Cyborg Evo, I purchased a new one, so I now have two Cyborg Evo's.

Instead of chucking the old one, I programmed the throttle, spare buttons and the hat to my old stick thus giving me two handed play, as a lefty I can use the throttle and spare hats and buttons on my right hand, while using the traditional controlls with my left. Neat!

I originally flew left handed with a Saitek Cyborg 3d Gold USB stick -- best ambidextrous stick made IMO.  Then I 'upgraded' to a CH HOTAS system and had to learn to fly right handed.  It can be done, but it's  not worth the effort.  I've never been as successful flying with the right hand.  I like your solution, though.  :)

I'm ambidexterous.   I can throw a football 50 yards with the right arm, and 40 with the left.    wait, were talking Joysticks.

I kinda did the same thing, I put my old Evo on the floor and mapped a few things to it.. works great as a gas pedal (using my big toe). I can also tap a few of the buttons, using said toe, for things like gear, wep and auto level.

i looked at the wirless but thoguth I'd end up spending a fortune on batteries. Could just imagine, u line up on someones six, just about to pop them out of the sky, and ur stick dies lol.

Well, it's only ended up killing me once. The batteries last about a week and a half each before they start to give intermittent stopping. You also have to "reset" the stick every day by popping the battery in and out.

I liked the fact that I could line up a cruiser gun, hold the trigger down, walk to the kitchen, make food, come back, and have killed whatever I was aiming at. :D
