Just got home from shooting and fedex had left a package...

The old Hurst pistol grip shifter handle and grip for mopars is being reproduced...
With a little grinding and fitting I got it to fit in the "Long" linkage of my richmund gear 6 speed transmission. It is maybe an inch or so taller but feells like more. It is as fun to use as I remember the old mopars cudas and such were.

I remembner when those first came out on a production car. Dodge and Plymouth had them on their muscle cars. They were not considered "cool" by the car media or the "old school" hot rodders. I thought they were pretty slick but never bought a car that used them.

mav... yep.. lotta guys who used really weird shift knobs themselves avoided the mopar pistol grip... I liked the ones I got to drive back then but not enough to pay for one from mopar...
It is funny tho how you find things that you didn't particularly care for are now "nostalgic"... tastes change too. The few people who have seen it all like it..

Had one in my superbee, thought it was the coolest thing I ever saw.

only one kind of a shifter knob for a hot rod, drill out a real 8 ball and mount it on the shifter.
and if your real hard core it will be a 8ball you "borrowed" from a pool hall.
