Title: Hangs while booting
Post by: DREDIOCK on March 19, 2006, 04:37:57 PM
My wifes machine.

Did some maint on it, adaware and whatnot and rebooted
Now it loads eventually but it seems to hang a really long time on the ASUS screen (where it says "press tab for post screen") before it finally boots. Like a minute or more.

Didnt used to do this.
Any suggestions?

did you reset anything in the bios?

like enable search for bootable floppy disk

enable test memory etc on start up?

or uncheck enable quick boot? ( depending on MB you using )

I hate using the flash screens, I much rather turn it off and see what is happening when the Comp is booting up.......

didnt change anything in the bios.
if anything I removed stuff from  startup, Real player etc

Seems to run fine once it does boot. It just seems to do a long pause on that screen, with no HD activity
