I got a call from the "Special trustee" this AM re: my lost money, after a preliminary investigation they have determined that I just might be who I say I am.
This means I dont have to prove who I am, just supply a few copies of various ID, sign the forms and choose how I'd like to get paid.
Once they get the forms, which I send out via FedEx tomarrow, the big mystery will be over in "about 2 weeks".
Thanks to the peeps who have kept an interest and asked, how would I spend a million bucks?.. although the chances are very real its just one of those things I will believe when I see.
I also found out that a few of my fathers albums are for sale on Amazon.com, he had 10 minutes of fame in the late 60s playing with then unknown bands like The Who. The lable cant find him, if he's dead I'm next in line for any royalties, maybe 20 years worth. The record company re-released 4 albums, check out "Stockholm 67 live" which is supposedly pretty good if you like that 60's sound.
I have yet to tell anyone I know in person... I really dont need North Hollywierd-ites at my door with sob stories about how they need $$. The suspense is torture
-
how about north Wisconsin-ites at your door with sob stories about how they need $$$ ?
;) :lol
-
I still hope it isnt some kind of scam.
Good luck with it though.... and if it turns out to be a scam I wouldn't say anything... to many people would be cheering about it here.

I don't mean to get personal, but you don't know if your father is dead? He really played with The Who?!?

His band played with The Who, check em out "The electric prunes", compare my picture with the guys on the various covers.. I look just like him.
But the dead giveaway that hes my father.. he and I have the same name, I'm a 'Jr."

I have no clue if he's alive, after he failed to become a rock star for real, Hollywood ate him up and puked him into the gutter. He drank until he vanished 20+ years ago. He has a-lot of native American blood, alcohol was literally "fire water" to that guy. He was a "red man".. from drinking.
As far as it being a scam, even some of my family members are hoping I get jack, wishing my bank account gets cleaned out by some dude named Umfufu in Nigeria... they think I don't deserve it since my retirement / business keeps me in enough money to live in cumfort... just amazing. Yet others are kissing bigtime browneye... my 19 year old cousin esp, he wants a new car.
I have shared e-mail with a girl from AZ who recently cashed in her 10 year old IIM account worth $400,000, and another guy who got $50,000 once.. then $15.00 a month.
They sent me a frikn W-9 too, all you taxpayers know what that means... they report every penny to the Waffen IRSS.
Anyway, its hurry up and wait now...

I have heard of the Electric Prunes. I might have one of their albums laying around somewhere. Are you P. R. Jr. or M. W. Jr.?
-
...or maybe M. F. jr?
-
Still think it's great to see a guy that paid the dues and did his bit for society and all get a positive karma kickback. Makes putting yer shoulder to the load all them years worth it and gives the rest of us hope that "maybe one day.."
Good luck, Marine. Hope it plays true for ya!
-
Sorry to hear about your dad, and I hope the money works out for you. And I hope your naysaying or asskissing relatives get a big piss off.

My X GF. I set up the 2 week trial on my new notebook when I was at her place and used Deidre as my screen name for about a week (before my wife got a chance to see it)

"The trio had started recording some tracks during the summer of 1999 when they invited (drummer) Michael Weakley, now known as Michael Fortune, to the studio for the sessions. It marked the first time in over 30 years that the original Electric Prunes had been in a recording studio together."

Vulcan, where's the fire?
He said the lump was otw, wait and see..

I'd get a fortress with 50 cal machine guns in bunkers on top and a barbed wire fence, it's meant to keep people out, not in, trust me:aok
Or maybe i'd move to Wyoming and get 1000 acres and set quonset huts and have a eutopia. I don't know, good luck though Marine!

Wow, I didn't even know this.
He wasn't like King Prune star (punny huh), he was one of the band members that left Denver and went to Los Angeles... once in LA, according to family folklore, he went to do his own thing while contributing to whoever the new prunes were.
Over the years the band took on various members... long after pops had bailed. His claim to fame is that he was an OG prune playing with the band when they gained popularity...in Denver.
Apparently back in the day the prunes were running all over Colorado making a stink in the local rock scene.
However the hollywood rock scene was full of hot bands from all over the world, Colorado coolness did not apply much as you still had to make all new fans. They had a sound that appealed to enough folks to rate recording a few albums and had them opening for bands like The Who... keep in mind we're talking mid-late 60's when they jammed in some Hollywood club where they were probably 1 of 5 opening bands... dad never played the Rose Bowl.. he had 6 minutes of prune fame 40 years ago.
