Just dropped the PC at the shop this morning for repairs/upgrades(been procrastinating a LOOOONG TIME)
Looks like I did it in the knick of time with this new patch out :)
So, what should I expect this weekend when I hop in my Corsair? Anyone test it out yet?
Thanks,

I don't know what they did to the Hog, but last night I got caught in one with an alt/E disadvantage against a Spit XVI and still managed to out-maneuver him in a 1v1 (he actually RAN from me, lol). Could've been the pilot I was up against, but as I understand they adjusted the flightmodel on the Spits and made them twitchier so maybe he couldn't have pulled as many Gs on a sustained turn as before (and I either had serious rubber bullets last night, or they really upped the armor, 'cause I filled his cockpit and wing with .50 cal and I STILL only got the kill when I chased him home and crashed trying to land at a field under attack).

I dont think they tweaked single aircraft FM. From what I understood, they made adjustments in general - which affect different planes differently.

lol they adjusted the spit FM did they? Where did HT say that? :)

from the new version announcement
snip....
Made several changes to the flight model affecting static thrust, propeller slipstream effects, ground effect, flaps and slats. This affects all planes to one degree or another. Due to this change, the table that controls combat trim had to be redone for all planes.

You know with the new buffeting, I havent tried a carrier bird...I bet its a lot squirrelier now

38 feels funny in a hammerhead now, but will stay nose up until you hit 0mph.
Maybe it did that before too...:lol

Only thing I've noticed trying to roll a Hog off the CV is that when I drop a notch of flaps I get the stallhorn now, when I didn't before. Oh, and that it seems most of the time I can apply full right brakes on my takeoff roll and my Corsair STILL veers out of control to the left. :p
I ended up flying through a vehicle hangar trying to up, and twice wrecked my prop on one of the CV's deck guns today as a result.

I have yet to notice any dramatic change in the hog series performance.
Still a sexy *** ride.

Dont start notching in flap till about 3/4 down the deck and dont use breaks, use that mammoth *** rudder.

Only CV planes I've flown so far since the Update are the A6M2, D3A and B5N. All seem to handle extreemely well at low speed and are extremely docile on landing on the CV, but it has been so long since I last flew any of them that I couldn't tell you if theres any difference.

Hold stick half back for first 2/3's of takeoff run on CV.
This "locks" the tailwheel, makes it require a LOT less correction to keep it straight.
Once speed is pushing 80 you have rudder authority, so let the tail lift, and get ready to pull the gear up once you run out of deck.
Try it, can make a HUGE difference.
Also works for landing also. Soon as speed below 75 start pushing that tail down.

CHogs can catch Typhoon's now, if that is any different.
