Tonight I had about 10 disco's between 11:00 and 11:30 pmCST, one right after the other I finally had to just log for the night. I did everything I could think of to trouble shoot the connection on my end, reset the cable modem, router, cleared the dns cache, gave myself a static IP and DNS, kicked the dog, yelled at the wife :furious but nothing helped. Anyone else have a problem with their connection? I kinda think it might be my ISP.
-
weird i live about 5 miles from you and i had a total of 3 discos in the past two nites. Not as extreme as your problem but 3 discos are more then the 3 ive had the past few months.
-
I had 5 discos last night, I cant remember of recently when I had 5 discos in the past 5 months, Im sure it happened but spread out over the months not as noticable.

I had about 4 disco's one after the other after a couple of minutes of being logged on. I rebooted and it was a long reboot, the computer seemed to have a lot of issues to work out before coming back on. Then logged on and hit the runway, screen froze for about 15 seconds, suddenly I was like 2000 feet up and auto-climbing. None of this has ever happened before now. Is there some kind of memory leak in the coad of this new patch ???

Here is a truth. Hang on to it.
At any given minute of the day, there IS a problem on the Internet, somewhere. Eventually, it will catch you.

Skuzzy is right! But if you wear one of these --->:noid , you will be protected.

That maybe true, but the same night that I downloaded the patch, I lost UDP 4 times and was booted. I can't remember the last time that happened to me and I can count on 7 fingers the amount of times I have been discoed by UDP since I started playing.
-
Has it happened since? Is it constant? Has it cleared up? Is it getting worse?

The common factor is the patch ! But who knows for sure.
-
But you did not answer the question. Is it constant? Is it better? Is it getting worse?
-
Last night it was the same, I logged in, upped a plane then Bam ! Lost UDP so I just called it a night. So I would say it is the same.
-
Have you tried running a PingPlot when it happens? Always a good thing to do just to see if there is a remote problem with the Internet.
Also, are you upping the same plane? Try a different one and see if it makes a difference.
The problem with these types of issues is they are almost always localized. Software is pretty consistent in its actions. If there was a global issue, it would effect all players equally. Or if there was something in common with anyone having this same issue, it could be game related.
To discover the commonality is difficult, not impossible though. We just have to ask a lot of questions.
EDIT: Actually BBQ, I think see the potential issue in your connection over the Internet, but need to test tonight. It's not us, but about 5 hops from us in Sprint's network.
-
Skuzzy when I get home I will run the ping plotter and send it to you, as for the plane that I choose it does not make any difference what I select the result is the same. Bam! Lost UDP. I know that Navajo was having a disco problem to, we do live in the same area but the ISP does not report any probems.

See my EDIT BBQ.

Nope ...
It was ...
Looks like ...
Apparently not ...
It does appear to have stopped. The reason why I posted was that with the install of the new patch ... installing the new res pack ... and getting skin dowloads ... I thought that maybe something in the midst of all of that might something might be causing loss of UDP and not necessarily the internet.

just tried again and discoed after 2 mins in game tonite
here is my ping plot results
