so i was making these films for our squad forum acm bible anyhow, thought i may as well post the 2, and now the third film involving the use of rolls and overshoot ACMs to combat an opponent using BFMs and a few very basic ACMs.
This film is for the more advanced student of basic ACMs. There are no instructions on the exact controls and speeds of manouvers aside from a running commentry on what the pilot is thinking throughout the fight. For instance, there is no mention of flap settings, trim settings or rudder and sideslip and Energy hording/dumping.
if you have not had a look at the first films posted here:
http://www.hitechcreations.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=173151
and here:

then you may find this style of tutorial hard to follow, as there is a hugely vast sum more infomation to take in at a much faster rate.
the set up is an F4U-D again, as i consider the hog of any model to be a great middle range fighter for describing many simple and more complex ACMs
the opponents is a fully eliptical winged Spitfire with a similar power engine to the F4U.

Hopefully Badboy might step in and do the part i can't do, explain a few key points and principles that make this more clear, which he has a great talent for. I honestly don't have a clue what im doing in the cockpit, i just fly the things.

Very nice again Bat. If you dont mind me joining in, I think here would be a good place to fill a request for the rest of the package that I had posted a film from in the last thread.
Text write-up, 6 films --->evarevall.zip (http://479th.jasminemarie.com/modules.php?op=modload&name=Downloads&file=index&req=getit&lid=49)

that what the forums are for, collecting related thoughts in the threads dedicated to them, anyone should feel free to chime in, critisize, correct and add to the subject. thank you for the addition sir.

Bat, links to the files aren't working any more. Can you upload them again? Thank you! :)

I took em down for space seeing as not much interest.
back up now just for you Gian :)

Guys both very nice films. One request, say when you are dropping flaps and when pulling them up. I ask this so I can compare if I am late or early in flap use.
and keep up the nice work.

S! bronk.
i think the main difficulty for me when describing flap settings, manifold pressure, etc, etc......etc...is that its happens before ive realised when i'm doing it, i never received any training here about these subjects but after a couple of years it just feels natural. I'm sure you and many others will relate, and its something ive heard many others say.
I guess my golden rules for flaps are:
1: If i want to burn energy off, hit flap down button too many times very quickly.
2: If my aircraft feels unstable due to lack of lift(climbing a rope, looping, etc), drop another notch.
3: If my aircraft feels unstable due to air flow over the wing(snap stalls, nose bounce, spiral death dives and flat spins), lift a notch or two.
4: If my aircraft has finished 60% of a turn/loop and my enemy seems to be extending, lift them all real quick and chase the bugger.

Thanx Bat. I think my problem is I drop to early and real in to late. Always seem E deficient. Although I think this is improving because I am getting more kills in my new ride of choice (P-47N) I don't know why but I went from getting the most kills in spits to the p47.
Ohh and Murdr If i could figure out that damn 38 I'd fly that more.
Possibly the 47 will help me transition into the 38, who knows.
Guys keep posting films . If more upper tier pilots would post it'd help the learning process more.

Ive found that most who've asked me for help with the 38 actually need to break bad ACM habits. Many planes turn better than the 38 in the long run, so one must be flawless in their choice of ACM. Often when flying a tighter turning plane, ACM mistakes leave you in a more forgivable position. There are specific do's and dont's that go along with flying the 38 though.
