MY primary computer is in the shop; the stupid machine I'm writing on now is about to get thrown down 6 flights of stairs (yes, that's how high I live.)
I want a new machine now! And, I'll just about buy any machne off the shelf if it gets here over night and supports high quality AH2. What should that be?
REPEAT: What should that be?
I'm thinking the 64 bit processor ( I guess; PCI express?) and best video card (of course).
Whatever it costs (oh, say about a thousand or more?, I don't care) I'd just like to fly during spring break. That's all I wanna do...salvage spring break flying with the fastest delivered machine off the shelf. (It'll be my back-up computer when the good one gets back.)
Is that too much to ask?
Where, What?

I recommend Dell Dimensions. I've owned a lot of Dells. They have been very reliable and trouble free for me, and I like them a lot. I currently have a Dimension 9150 with a Pentium D dual-core processor and an XFX nVidia Geforce 6800GS card (bought from Newegg.com -- not from Dell).
Hmm, just noticed the time requirement, though. Dell computers usually take at least a week to get.

I'll say it again, my notebook is the shiznat (for the price). You can get more goodies & pay extra for a brand name if you want. Being a "Vanalla book" its very easily upgradable MXM PCI-e & i915 chipset for up to 2.6 P-M, PCClub, for a price, will even swap in a duo core motherboard.
Oh yea, it plays AH (BF2, Wings over Nam, Joint Ops, Americas Army) anywhere, like a charm, no problems EXCEPT with some games, like AH.... no 16:10 widescreen support
Americas Army runs at a native wide res and looks fantastic, AH stretches the screen to fit a more standard res.. and no, it cant be changed in the settings, anywhere.. AH just crashes.
