didnt watch your film but i have a few films of the same thing from this last tour.
absolutely pathetic and lame, when will these tards realise that; firstly, cable pulling vs a good stick is just delaying the innevitable, and scondly, AltF4 doesnt save your score or deny the enemy his kill.
-
LOL
-
I didn't watch your film because I already know what it looks like.
I was sure I had film of a guy caught dead to rights once. Reviewed the film and checked his stats. The guy had been flying for years and kept paying his account even though he only logged about 5 hours a month. Anyway, sent the film to htc and guess what, the next patch that came out fixed a bug that was "causing warps for some people." It's frustrating but you never really know for sure no matter how bad it looks.
-
I had the same thing happening one month ago with a Lanc formation up high. Imagine how angry I was trying to slowly reach the formation just to see the bastard warping just 500yds out of my cannons range again. This happened 4-5 times with weird precision, with every single warp he was 500-1000yds farther :huh .
I was so furious I couldnt even film it (actually, I hadnt even the film keys mapped on my keyboard, go figure)

Well, I've been flying for years and log a pretty meagre amount of hours each month... just can't let the game go.

Hmm, not really sure which plane he is at the start. The res of the .wmv is so low the icons are illegiable. But, I did notice a plane start warping while he was chasing you. I assume that was him. Why would he start "yanking" while he was behind you?
-
First let me say I film every sortie and I mean every sortie.
Golfer have you ever tried in h2h or in game with squaddie to see if cord pulling does warp in game? Well you don't have to answer. We have Tested it. Will you warp on command pulling cord NO. Will you eventual warp pulling cord yes but not right away. 2nd alt f4 looks just like guy who hits enter 3times fast then tower plane goes boom disappears. allot have exit to tower mapped and can do it fast so its a bail. Pulling cord is a urban legend in this game. Trusted me when you see a Cheat there will be no doubt about it,with no possible exceptions. Been here long time and use to fly 200 hrs Tod and in all that time only saw 1 Real Cheat. He was caught and HTC fixed problem instantly this was in AH1. We al have seen guys with bad connection warp. this guy at any time could disengaged you fly away if he was really trying not to die. Imagine him trying to turn fight a better turning plane warping with his service,Geting upset because he loses Situation awareness. I probably have 200 films of these warps which are minimal for guys on dial up. Seen alot worst. End of your film you ask us to be Judge, but You have already done that. And your so wrong. Glad Your not a judge :). I myself thought I had caught another player cheating his plane was inadvisable and didn't even show up on film except xxxxxx has killed you. I was so sure He was cheating.I PM him told him I was wrong person to pull that on. He laughed. I sent my film to Roy ( didn't post in on boards which is so wrong). Then couple of days later I get answer. It was a bug in AH2 that caused his plane never again Have i prejudged someone i send maybe 1 film in 6 months to HTC. I had to apologize to player and did so on 200 because i assumed I was right and told a few players.
PS. I know why its not in ah film format. Can you say muted.

the same thing occurred to me in the AvA last week, my plane was invisible to everyone including the AI ack. I could fly over enemy CVs invisibly. I relogged and the problem was gone. sometimes strange things happen when playing computer games. I have heard some people say there is a reset button on some cable interfaces which can cause warps and some warps are so well timed that one suspects they are intentionally done but again who can really say?
-
I cant imagine the fun in that. Its not like it makes you better at the game. Does the person actually feel good when he pulls..and says "Haha..didnt get me!" to himself?
-
Sorry, Golfer, my "judgment" is that the guy was warping but that's all the film shows. I think that saying it was evidently deliberate is going a step too far.

I know there was a bug before christmas when i went to do king of the hill,i was told i needed to completly shut the game down before going back or i would be invisable to every one else.this was a bug and i think its been fixed

That would be "dot bug". Well known throughout H2H and SEA. It doesnt make YOU invisible to others, its you that doesnt see anyone else. All you see is little black dots warping around like crazy. It usually happens when you enter the SEA without exiting game to desktop first (ie coming from another arena). A relog usually fixes that.
Not sure this "feature" has been fixed. Its been around ever since i started playing in 2004 (probably longer).

The problem isn't that he warped. We all warp...it's internet life and no big deal.
The problem is when he warped. I realize the video is only 256kbps quality (a problem because I'm on dail-up speed and uploading large 100+MB movies is not something I can do).
At 1:01 he goes into warp drive as I'm starting to reverse and by 1:15 he's glued to my six. Beautifully stable and all too willing to pump rounds into me.
Once I get back to the upper hand (land a ping, get off a shot and start to saddle in) at 2:10 he completely disappears and reappears at least 2k from where he started. At 2:16 he's got an angle and he stays behind me until 2:55 when he has an appointment with terra ferma at 3:05.
I know he alt+F4'd because I checked the roster to see name/rank/squad and he was gone. I comment that he "logged off real quick!" (in shame!!) when squaddie points out that he alt+f4'd. Sure enough a minute later he's back in the game. Reviewing the film in the viewer and in my head...he disapears just before impact. No explosion, no nothing. Just vanished.
I have a 3mbps version I can upload thats 110MB. I can't upload it in any reasonable timeframe so I'll have to just post later. If ya want the whole film I can give it...but it's got some rather vulgar language while I'm giving my unfiltered sugar-free opinion of what I think of the situation. Hence the music/selective vox transmissions and such :)

Last night this happend to me. I told him he was a cordpuller in pvt.
To my surprize he types back "Flyinfin, yes I was pullin my cord"
To many of your warpy team mates to deal with."
So yes I guess thats it Filth
Pretty hard to deal w/when some 1 says yes I cheat thats why you didnt get me!
Trouble in Paradise,

You may have answered your own question. Did you even think he might have re-logged because he was warping. Or he discoed and didn't bail or alt f4. ( you said you checked Roster fast he was gone)You need to step back read your post and situation think what if this was me doing this?
This is like those new TV commericals about first impressions. message at end says "Don't judge by first impressions"
And by looking at his stats do you really think he is expert at cheating. I hope you didn't private him or call him out on 200. bad enough you did it here. where this person hopefully doesn't read yet. You could be calling your next Friend a Cheat for no reason or worst making his impression of Ace's high a bad one. If I remember right your a business owner so was I. It cost me about 38k in advertising and misc work just to get a long term customer. I have no clue if HTC has gone and done its research on how much it cost to get a new customer for long term. Can tell you that advertising not cheap. and without New players how do you think they will afford new planes and update game we all enjoy. Best to do like Dale and HTC has asked "send us film please do not post bbs or get into harassing in arena's".
okay off soap box for now!

Trouble in Paradise,
Its amazing no screen shot of this or film to prove. pretty easy to say it just happened. Shame this needs to be locked before more urban-legends appear.

I tell ya ... if you privated me and called me a cord puller ... I would have told you the same ... just to yank your chain.
Nothing worse than some neanderthal who takes the game way to seriously to the point that they have to private you and make accusations.
Chit happens and as Rod has pointed out ... most have no clue and make foolish assumptions that can result in one eating a plate of crow.
-
Rod I kept my lip zipped and he's not a new guy. If he was new I wouldn't have done anything. He's in an established squadron on who's homepage he's listed as a "veteran" of the online sim world.
It walks like a duck...it quacks like a duck...it's not a goose.
In the previous 30 minutes I'd ran into him a couple times. He was smooth and he showed no signs of being warpy. Not until first reversal did it happen and he winds up directly behind me. Shook em...he was smooth throughout the minute long fight. Warps again (all over the sky) and is smooth as silk right up until he alt+f4's out.

First off all I dont need no stinkin Film to prove anything. I said it happened. It happened! Got it roddy?
Dweeb,

Mkay, one time in band camp, I tried to pull my cord. But I got the draw string to my gym pants instead. I ended up almost strangling my PP to death.
-
slappy hit it on the head...
some people take this game WAY to seriously.
-
I had a warper like that on Saturday, and in frustration I accused him of pulling the modem cord. But now I am not so sure that he was cheating, remembering that I warped just like that a few months ago because of a new motherboard that was faulty. It was only when I noticed that everyone else was zigzagging all over the place that I realized it was ME, and when I checked my net status I saw severe and random spiking. Because it was random, some of my flight was smooth, but I would suddenly warp when I was behind or in front of an enemy.
From an enemy's perspective, I must have been warping just like dommy1 was in your film. He may not have been cheating at all. As soon as I realized what was up, I logged off realizing what a pain my warping would be to other players. Maybe dommy1 did the same.
When I saw dommy1 warping when he was on your high six, I began to think his warping was not intentional, because that would never be to anyone's advantage.
Anyway, you found a warper. I am not convinced that he was cheating, especially with all of the reported connection problems after the last update.
eh?

Hmm . . . last night I was on line for about an hour or so, flying fine and smooth and all . . .
A little before nine, I notice a plane warp. Then I notice the beacon thingy comes on. Yep, lost UDP or whatever it is.
Try to enter the furball . . . fly for a couple minutes . . . all the other icons drop to the ground. A couple seconds more, and I crash to desktop.
So, you ran into him a few times and he seemed smooth. Then he gets warpy. Slightly smooth again. Then he discos. So? Seems to be what happens to people when a connection issue pops up.

This should be handled via email.
