Title: Windows Movie Maker and MPeg
Post by: Hawklore on March 27, 2006, 12:44:10 PM
When I import Mpeg videos from my DVD camcorder it loads the audio but no video...

Should I try and capture it directly from the camcorder instead of going through Sony's software?

Try downloading the video from camcorder to a folder first, then drag and drop the video on the VIDEO timeline within Movie Maker.

I found so many limitations with MM that I too became frustrated and finally forked out the bucks for decent movie editting software.

Oh, you want the Sony special effects that you've created using Sony software, and import into Windows Movie Maker? Good luck!

It should. I had no problems with my Panasonic Mini-camcorder when I used Movie Maker. Is this MM2.0? You're using WinXP, right? It should accept it. If nothing else,  go get yourself ConvertMovie. It costs something like $19.95 (off the www). Then you convert it to any format you want.  Incidently, the effects in Movie Maker will make you laugh if you ever spend alittle money for good movie making software. ;)

Pinnacle Studio has alot more effects than that as well, the aged look is a great one I used quited often in MM2. Pinnacle is not cheap though.

If you want to get by cheap, find a forum where other MM2 users have had similar problems, or just get ConvertMovie, it will only convert movies to the format you wish.

Aged video.  This is more of a gun cam look.  You can also make it look like it's on an old t.v. and roll back the color.  Pretty much anything.

Click here for aged movie.  Aged to perfection that is! (http://www.furballunderground.com/Guest/Golfer/agedbomberstream.wmv)

Vegas baby.  Vegas.
