It's already available.  Search the forums, can't remember which one, to find out how to activate it.  IIRC you edit the video8 file.

Search the whole board, "video8" and yes there are some things you need to be aware of.  Your earlier thread was included in the list.

Edit the video8.cfg file, in the 'settings' folder, and plug in the resolutions you want.  Just be sure your video card supports the resolution first.

I told him that, he said it crashes his PC, which probrably means his video card doesn't support the resolution he wants to run...

16:10 aspect ratio support (http://www.hitechcreations.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=173505)

Worked for me though (1920 x 1200) and everyone else I know that uses custom resolutions...

Yea, it crashes if I try to set the video8 file to even the default 1280x800, which is where Americas Army is set. Running on a seperate standard crt works fine at all kinds of settings.

Its a 128M 6600go GPU with a WXGA 15.4" notebook screen.

Edit: Just tried it again, setting to 1280x800. Americas Army runs at this res, its the same as my desktop

AH started to my suprise at 640x480 offering the same options as before;
640x480
800x600
1024x768

Ok, I created a custom resolution in the nvidia settings

then...
Edited video8 file to "1280x800" like my desktop
AH starts now, but at 1280x1024.. the custom resolution I created
Even better the set up screen at start up says the video is set at 640x480, but in game (as mentioned) its now running at 1280x1024

Looks much better, but its acting wierd.

Anyway, there seem to be a few nvidia settings i can play with that now work, somewhat.

x0847Marine can you post the content of your video8.cfg file ?

Btw the video cfg in AH don't list the exotic video modes like your, it only list standard mode like 640x480,800x600 ...

Looks like the nvidia settings I was tinkering with are to help iron out wide screen / display issues, creating a custom setting, thats listed as suported which is odd, thus far has made AH happier.

Video8 set to 1280x800 (see below) but runs in game at 1280x1024 and displays 640x480 in the start up video menu.. game runs great, looks 20x better, esp with AA settings and all sliders shoved left.

It crashes as well as erasing the video8 file when I exit. I can save the file and simply drag a copy to a settings short cut rather than re-type these settings each time.... for the time being.

Its some progress at least, thanks. Im too tired to think anymore.

If you hit the startup video screen, your res wasn't supported.
