Title: Vox Drops Out Randomly
Post by: hartz89 on March 28, 2006, 10:43:10 AM
I'm running a headset through a USB connection.  When I first go online, it works like a charm.  But, after playing a while, the microphone stops working.  If I log off and go online again, the mic works again--for a while.

I'm using Windows XP, if that matters.

Incidentally, I have terrible low volume mic problems through the soundboard (brand new Dell XPS--it seems to be a not uncommon problem)--which is why I sent to the USB connection, which seems to have solved the low volume problem, at least.

What can I do?

USB has a power saver setup, it maybe that the USB is going into powersaving mode.
Check in your device manager, under USB, and USB root/hub. Right click, then properties, then power managment. Uncheck "allow computer to turn off this device to save power"

Not sure if it will help....couldn't hurt :)
