I have a problem with my vox since the installation of Version 2.07. The problem is that when I first use vox, either range or channel, my screen freeze up. After the first use, I don't have any further problems during that login session. The problem repeats itself when I log out and return. Has anyone else experienced this same problem and if so, how did you fix it?
My system is a Pentium 4 CPU 2.00 Ghz,
512 MB ram
Nvidia GEForce 4 TI4600

Try if changing you "wave in" setting in vox options helps.

Thanks for the reply. I tried that and it didn't work.

Wizer try this.
from your desktop click start then run. type in dxdiag and hit enter.
Once the screen loads click on the sound tab. Set your sound card accelleration back to 3/4.
Also, when you launch AH make sure nothing non essential is running in the background.
cheers,
RTR

if the 3/4er's trick doesnt work .. check for updated sound drivers .

I also have this problem.
Since the update I can't fly at all. Its all fine til someone uses Vox. That is when my screen locks up.
My system is:
AMD Athlon XP 3200+
(ASUS A7N8X-E)
2.19 Ghz, 1.00 GB RAM
Radeon 9800 PRO
NVidia NForce2 IDE Controller
NVidia NForce MCP Networking Controller
SiI 3112 SATARAID Controller
Total Physical Memory 1,024.00 MB
Available Physical Memory 677.54 MB
Total Virtual Memory 2.00 GB
Available Virtual Memory 1.96 GB
I just reformatted the thing so I don't have extra programs running in the background, my Spybot S&D says the system is clean as a whistle, and I have all the latest drivers, but I still can't even sit in the tower for 2 minutes before someone talks and I lock up, get the black screen, and crash to desktop.
I've gone through the support board countless times, tweaked my sound settings, double checked my "wave in" button, and called hitech at least 3 times, but this problem is still at the same place it was since the update!
Can anyone think of anything, suggest anything, heck, can anyone loan me a system that can run with this update, so I can fly again?? Having major withdrawals here!!!

First, by running things in the background, they mean extra programs. XP by default loads a bunch of programs/services. Any programs you have added may have "start up on boot" stuff also. Hit cntrl/alt/delete. Normal running on mine is 26 processes, but when I fly I get it down to 16.
Second thing, I have all the latest drivers is not always a good thing. I'm running a 9800 pro and I use the 2.5.97a drivers. They are and older set and work great. Skuzzy recomended these. Newer driver sometime don't help, and hurt older cards.
Just dialing back the drivers may be all you need, depending on the number of processes you have running. I have about the same specs and easily run in the 70's FR, with no lock up troubles.

System and drivers are set. But still have the same problem.
-
ive got close to the same setup as you Damnname
a7n8x-e dlx
2500 M barton at 2.4ghz
2x 512 3200 in dual
Ati 9600 pro
420watt enermax ps
One thing though is im running a custom win98se OS
my drivers are
the 4.12 cats for the ati card (these work the best)
the 4.27 International nividia drivers for the mainboard
and the stock driver for the marvel lan
my sound excelleration is set to max and i dont get any lock ups ....
in the previous verson of ah (2.06) i had to set my 5.1 speakers down to 2 speakers because my vc transmit would quit after 20 times or so .. since this last patch i havent had that problem for some reason .
you may have to turn down your sound excelleration one notch and use 2 speakers in the nvmixer .
