enjoy it now cause tomorrow starts a week of timid pilots and mass vulching / strat bombing for rank :)

Indeed. I managed to get a couple of 262 sorties under my belt (and about 6 kills for the night), and topped it off with a sad excuse for a Ta152 sortie.
Is it me or do the 262 wings snap off a LOT easier now?? I pulled a steady turn, wasn't even 4Gs, and lost both wingtips... I tried landing, but apparently even with gear down if you touch down at 190 mph you instantly just go "boom". You USED to be able to actually.. you know.. land.
Well I only lost 2. That's still a lot of perks, and I saw at least 4 friendly 262s (counting myself) and at least 1 or 2 enemy 262s all in the same area (around A74 or so), so I think others had the same idea I had!
-
:lol Krusty you should know how fast 190 knots is, even if you used to do it. Hell most if not all airliners land below 200 knots. You basically just smeared you landing gear at the touch down point and are scraping your bellybutton on the pavement at 140MPH.
-
Jet fighter aircraft have strengthened gear to allow for higher stresses and speeds, and yet to still operate.
If the damn wings hadn't ripped off in a 60-degree banked turn, I wouldn't have NEEDED to land so hot!
-
I would file a complaint with the Messerschmit company as well as telling your crew chief to use something with a little more hold then Elmers glue.

Except that the 262 was (in)famous for fragile landing gear. Especially the one in the nose.

I don't get the thread...
do you lose your perks at the end of each tour?
didn't think so as I have thousands of fighter perks that I never use..

You really need to get off this issue Waffle. I have great respect for you for what you have donated towards the community, but just the other night someone in a 190a8 was running from my F4U-D.

The point was not that I lost perks. No. The point was that I didn't care if I lost any, as it was the last day of the tour. I time for fun, even if it was expensive fun. I was basically saying "Come on folks, live a little, they're only perks! Spend them! If ya lose 'em, so what??"

Was that the one that ended with "SYSTEM: You shot down Goth #3"?

Well, after getting tired of chasing you, I turned away only to have you rev. So, I revved back and died to your HO. Did you really want to talk about running and HOing? Virtual dying is less painful than being a hypocrit.
-
lol I did at least 3-4 turns with you in all dimensions..even had flaps out on a 190 turn fighting you in a f4u.... btw the reason you couldnt catch me was your gear was down.... i only went 1.5/2k and then reversed....
Dhog meet A8 :D BTW I do believe I heard your guns blazing on the intial merge :)

How fast were you going when you ripped them off. Maybe a combination of G forces and extreme speed?
-
Not that extreme. Fast (it's a 262) but not creaking or anything. Very gentle G spiral turn with slight descent, and POP no wingtips. I think they're too weak in AH, personally. I don't think anything designed and built to fly that fast can't MOVE while flying that fast.
