Okay, this question has been beat to death and I understand why HTC has the ditch model set as it is for airplanes...Pavement only...It makes landing more of a challenge etc...Fine, I think thats prolly the best idea...
Here is my proposal...Im not sure if M3, Jeep or even M8 ever had this capability, but I would like to suggest adding a tow bar to one of these vehicles, or adding a tow vehicle to the game...When an aircraft falls short of the runway the tow vehicle would be able to tow it onto pavement so they can get a sucessful landing....Now I know im gonna hear the arguement against it saying who is really gonna be willing to tow someone elses airplane...who cares? Well what about this....Why is it when we leave our airplane on the ground it disappears? Why cant the airplane stay there as we go pick up our "tow", and after the tow is completed we hop back in the aircraft and tower out?
Im in a rush 2 get out right now so this is pretty sloppy, but if anyone understands what im trying 2 say please add.....
This also brings me the the request that when we exit the aircraft the aircraft stays so we can do a walk around...X3 in the air would obviously be a bail...But x3 on the ground, why does the aircraft magically go away?

sounds cool to me:aok

The people that come out to get ur plane get half of the perks you earned that sortie . OR better yet they get 1/4th of the perk plane worth paid by you for saving you from a ditch . I bet people would line up to drag ya back in , espesually if its only 15 yards or so lol .

regardless if people help you or not...Aces High II is a flight simulator, and if GV's can fix battle damage then aircraft should be able to as well

"and if GV's can fix battle damage then aircraft should be able to as well"
Plenty of times ive ran out of fuel or oil metres away from the runway.
The Bruvinator agrees with you cav! good idea

It takes people helping. People have to bring vehical supplies to damaged GV's to fix damage . So i dont understand the " regarless if people help you or not " statement.

Okay what I was trying to say in regards to individual towing is that if impleminted (however its spelled), when on the ground you should be exit your aircraft without it turning into a cloud of dust and disappearing into thin air, and grab the tow yourself and tow your plane onto the runway...Even if the tow idea doesnt fly, we should be able to exit and re enter our aircraft without it pulling a magic trick
-
I get what your saying . It would prolly be alot easier to get implemented if it is done kinda like the GV resupply model.
It would be alot less work for HT to add plane supplies to the GV list, and then alowing planes to accept supplies then having to code a whole new system to enable you to exit your plane and figure out a way to get you into a vehicle . Then redoing the scoring to keep track of two objects assigned to you in the arena .
This is all specualtion thou, im not a programer , but with the work going on for combat tour , and the planes that are being reworked to AH2 standards , i think keeping it simple is going to be the best bet right now.

Okay...38 I like the idea...simple and it basically fufills what im asking for...
HTC id really like to hear your imput in fixing damaged planes up

I definitely agree with this. If you can save someone's prettythang in a shot-up GV, you should be able to have someone drag a plane a few feet onto the tarmac. I like.

While the towing idea is neat, this sounds better to me. Just have vehicle supplies able to cure the ills of aircraft as well as they already do gv's.
Of course I do remember some poor guy getting his 262 stuck in some soft ground while playing AH1. No matter what he did, he couldn't get the plane out of what seemed like an emulation of mud. A tow cabable gv would have saved him.
Hey, how about both?

The one and only reason behind only being able to land on a runway is to add challenge to this game. If you could land anywhere and everywhere there's no point. Getting on the runway is part of the game. You screw up, you don't make it. End of story. That said, I've made it back to the runway more times than I should have (shot up, oil out, eng dead, pilot wound, etc etc) and still made a safe landing.
I don't think it's that hard. If you are off the runway, you're off. End of story. Perkies bye-bye!
That's not going to change anytime soon.

I wouldnt lose as many kills then. Other day was in a temp and has a radiator hit. Fell short of the runway 25 feet and lost 15 scalps. Didnt feel bad as those were all easy kills and would of felt bad if I landed them and I still had 100 rounds left in my temp. I definately wouldnt lose as many kills if this was implemented. But only thing against this would be that I can see the country text filled with people asking for someone to come get them.
-
I think squad mates would be willing to do it. Fellow countrymates as well, if you have some friends.
-
Well I think its fair to say that its proven people would do this....Look at GV supplies
-
Sounds good to me - both from a playability point of view and ease of coading.
People been griping for "repairs" for as long as I can remember, aircraft supplies from gvs sounds like the best, simplest way to do it.
